Well its advertising if nothing else and i think everyone so far that has completed is still seeding so thats a good sign... Im at 700 mb upped so far.. Gonna DL sopranos, ufc 51 and trailer park boys s6e3 tonight but will seed again in the morning before i go to work.. btw ive spent more time seeding this so far than ive played in the last month. But np....

Incidentally, I downloaded the Obsidian torrent and it fixed the "Installer Corrupt?" issue.


Seeding now

I think somebody should try turning the WORKING Obsidian .exe installer into a CD image, and THEN sharing it as a torrent. This should hopefully ensure that the file structure/integrity remains intact.

As it stands, anything that splits the client into parts (eg download managers, bit torrents etc) has a massive chance of corrupting the client so that it is unusable once downloaded.

If people find this one works uncorrupted 100% of the time though, then great.

I could do that... I have the installer burned to CD anyway. A .bin/.cue or .iso image would probably be the most universal...

You should do that for sure. Alot of people only see the torrent when its in the main page lists of the torrent sites.. So youll get people who havent seen mine. But if you wanna wait till mines gone.. It will prbly be about a week.. its at 10 seeds with 1-5 DLers tops off and on... 59 completes The first one i did a few months ago ended up with 180 completes..

Aye, a good one it is.

Think I'll use .bin/.cue so people can burn with free CDRwin or mount in Daemon Tools... will make sure to make the binary path "obsidian.bin" instead of "g:\my crap\another folder you don't have\obsidian.bin". I HATE it when people do that! Just put the name of the binary itself in quotes so that if the .cue and .bin are in the same folder, loading the .cue sheet always finds the binary.
