The DX Gaming network has been around since 1999 and has gone through many revisions throughout the years. While Obsidian has remained our main focus, the main site has been less then spectacular.
Well, that is a moment from the past as this is now!
DX Gaming has relaunched as a gaming blog and is already receiving acclaims from all across the internet.
Take a quick look at what we've been working so hard on and let us know what you think.

the word of the day is slashdotted (verb) - to have a server reduced to a flaming puddle of goo due to the number of requests it serves from being posted on the front page of slashdot.

Yup, Slashdot posting crushed it. I got this posted after hitting reload 3 times on each page to get here and no page really looks completly right. I'm sure it will wear off in a couple of days and get back to normal.
I have no interest in modern console gaming, but it's nice to see this webserver has more than one purpose.

and what I'm surprised noone has mentioned, is how much traffic this will bring towards the shard...

I already noted this while speaking to BB.. but it's also causing a lot of stress on the DXGaming server.. we're having problems loading the Obsidian stuff.

If you mean actual new PLAYER traffic, "Obsidian Shard" is currently just a "network" link on the upper right on the main dxgaming page now... I imagine many /. rs are just reading the article, making a comment, and moving on. Sorry to be negative, but when I saw the new page for the first time today I didn't even see the link and just added /obsidian to the path to get here.

Theirs a link on the side of the dx gaming site... you should make an 'AD' though as well and stick it on the bottom of dx gaming... Also you should get another server and split the sites... have dxgaming.com main on one, and /obsidian on the other... If I get paypal, I will help donate to the cause =P
