I missed the part where Thassius said AFI was emo..

AFI ruined the punk scene, and sure as f*** ain't part of the emo scene.

reference to the song "Davey destroyed the punk scene" by Anti-Flag. Davey being the frontman for AFI.

I never said AFI were Emo; I used AFI as an example of modern hardcore punk - and hardcore punk was one of the influences that contributed to 'Emo' in my view.

AFI were a good band with their earlier stuff before they got 'MTV'd'. It happens to many bands, unfortunately :(
