Hi all

I've just noticed the above in somebody's signature. Unfortunately it seems to have been missed by us in its original form, however it is entirely unnaceptable. Problems with the above:

- It is moronically insulting towards other peoples beliefs. I am not religious myself, and I am completely up for intellectual debate about religion, but simply declaring that a religion 'sucks' in such a confrontational way is downright ignorant.
Let's not forget that this is an american server which is a predominantly christian country. Besides, Atheism is not a religion, it is the lack of believing in one.

- The term 'Paki' in this context is a derogatory racist term.

- Spelling it 'Packy' to circumvent the swear filter (or just because you don't know how to spell) doesnt make it any better.

Todd now has a one week forum suspension because I was quite shocked as to the tone of his post, not just the content.

In addition, anyone who has decided it is clever to post this in their signature also has one week to remove it or they will also be suspended also. Facilitating and supporting behaviour like this is just as bad as voicing it in the first place.



I hope that you can all see why this is necessary - disagreeing with someone on an intelligent basis is one thing, but shouting that their religion sucks and using racist slurs on the forum is quite different. I hope that all of you will bear this in mind in future.

I also want it to be apparent to our new and existing players that Obsidian Staff do not tolerate nor condone mindless displays of discrimination based on race, religious beliefs, or anything else.

I am never offended by any1 who quite obviously has no idea what the hell they are talking about anyway. All that post really did was make me think that Todd needs to pick up a book once in a while. There should be one in your trailer somewhere.
