that's a cool one! but yet i have to once again toot the horn of the fisher(wo)men out there. (fishers have horns??? heh...)

let's say we spawn a pool of "feeder fish" near the shore at some rare random locations every once in a while. this pool would be visible by a shimmering "splashy" effect on the water. a typical pool would be within only 6 tiles out from any given spot from the shore.

now before you say sarcastically "That's REALLY cool, Cyber" consider this: feeder fish are a tasty treat for better fish. in other words, any fish other than your typical ordinary fish reaaaaaaaly likes the feeder fish! so...

i'm not sure which is better to do from a programming standpoint but either give a fisher character +X to their skill while fishing in such a pool or just make better their chances for catching special fish in general.

here are some other things that would make this feature even better:

- have dolphins swim up and down the coast to help give a hint as to where these pools might be.
- if you want to boost the chances of a specific kind of special fish being caught color the shimmering effect of the pools to indicated what type of special fish is feeding there.
- throw in a sea monster after a while to feed as well thus cleaning up the pool in order to reset it to spawn somewhere else.

sounds fun to me! then again, i don't have to code it! ;) take care all!

Would be a good idea but,
Gm bob said, 2. You believe it is something that the obsidian staff can NOT create in-game due to how difficult it would be.

Would seem kinda easy to create it, just add a fish that gives fishing experience

oh, man, do i feel like a dumbass if i understand you correctly (don't answer that!).

what you are saying/clarifying is that we have to come up with the coolest idea that they CAN NOT and WILL NOT do because of it's difficulty? boy do i feel like an idiot if that is the case! (again, don't answer that!)

ok, ok. soooooo, how about.......

an Indiana Jones-style mine-cart ride that takes you on a tour of all the major dungeons? yep, for 1k gold per ticket get ready for the wildest ride this side of Universal Studios!

- experience chills and thrills galore as your mine-cart safely speeds by countless beasts and camping PKers that would normally kill you with just one strike!
- read with fascination as a bot of Echo describes, a la Jurassic Park, the perils and pitfalls of each area!
- even your ears will be rewarded as you listen to a full John Williams-esque soundtrack rendered in high-fidelity MIDI!
- as an added bonus (and after signing a waiver form) you have the option of leaving the ride at a small waystation in each dungeon. think this ride is for little children and cowerdly nervous persons? well then fight your way out! (full ticket refund and certificate of completion apon returning to the rides main station alive)

............<---Echo says you must be this tall to ride
.....O.....
..../||\...
..._/ \_..

There...how's that? heh, heh... :P

i would like to see a skill like an "elder skill" for older players to recieve some kind of benifeits. Like maybe they could create somthing out of nothing or magic with no reagents or travel easily for free by clicking on a world map gump.

Sooooooo...

I know that everyone is hard at work on the new patch but...

Is there any updated information about the contest? It might be a good distraction from everything that is currently happening to see where we all stand.

For example: Do we have a final three? Will player voting be involved? Do we have a "That's Just Too Wack!" catagory? Will Echo ride up on a flaming Otra to deliver the prize and then blow up the winners house with some exploding barrels? ;)

Hehehe. Just trying to lighten the mood! That and this is a good way to distract everyone from The Patch! :D

Instead of jail time, how about meting out a bit of “community service” justice?

The criminal must roam the land in a restricted manner until they bless “X” amount of people with a special wand.

The form of restriction will be that they will be provided with only special clothing, a special mount and a wand. They will not be allowed to carry anything else or access their bank box our any houses they may have access to. The clothing should be gaudy in nature as will the temporary mount. The mount is provided since the guilty party will probably have much ground to cover in their quest for penance.

They will not be allowed to equip any other items except for the key to their freedom: a special wand. This wand will grant a boon to whoever it is used on. However, it can only be used on characters that are not in the same guild as the convict and who are at least neutral or above in karma. Any use on an evil character will add 1 to the total amount of people needed to bless. Also it can only be used once on any given character and would have a cool down period of several minutes which could also be adjusted by the judge handing out the sentence.

The boon that this wand provides would vary depending on the situation. If a character is in town, it might give the receiver 10k gold. Should it be used while the target character is in combat, it might provide an armor bonus or healing. Upon being blessed the receiving player would see a message stating the evil doers name and their crime along with how many more people need to feel the wand’s benefit. For example:

"F4rtKnocker granted you a Penitent Boon (3 more out of 10 to help for the crime of Speed Hacking)"

What if we could have an NPC transfer animals and items for you? For example, if your on your tamer and since theres barely anyone on anymore, you could transfer ur horse or item to the NPC and logon your other character and type "retrieve" or something and he'll give you everything your last character gave to him.

was thinking of this while there were only 2 ppl on.

What if there were repair picks, for example, say you wanted your armor repaired but there was no blacksmiths on to repair it. So you whip out your repair picks and attempt to repair your armor. But each time you fail 1 of them break. Mayeb we could have a skill that only goes to 20 or something, and the higher your skill is, the better chance of you repairing your armor and your pick not breaking. kinda like lockpicking.

Or have a blacksmith NPC repair pieces of your armor for an amount of money.
