Well just wanted to drop by and say that i will be returning
back to the obsidian world.......also i wanted to know
if anyone i remembered were still here......

as soon as the beta testing is down i will come and
play a lot more.....seeing as im now a senior and
have so many less classes......only 2 AP ones this
year....it means less homework and more playing.....

p.s. if anyone here plays CS:S and wants to add me to
thier steam friends list then add either:

brodeanu
or
Iron Man

well if anyone remembers me then post here
and tell me whats new on obsidian......

The migration is in progress still and things are a little quirky, but it's not as bad as some of the threads hear may make you think.

Some nice changes to housing, such as ability to pack and demolish your house. Gives you a deed so you have option to move it. Hope this stays around after migration is done (not live yet).

All spells are active (cool), but all armor hinders magery (not cool).

Monsters are overpowered, may be tweaked.

Failure rate has increased for smelting. Old armor, ingots and ores are basically useless.

Passive anatomy gains from fighting (not cool). Anatomy fff will in demand (cool if you have a fisher)

Almost forgot, we are all poor now.

There may be more stuff, both cool and uncool, that I didn't think of right off.

Don't believe everything you hear, especially if it's all from around 4 very vocal and very pissed off players.

Broadband hasn't left, he's as here as he ever is, which comes out to a spurt of activity for a week every month or two, plus leaving directions for what he wants to see next.

The current active staff are Echo, Myself, and Drakkar, and sometimes koldoon, with a few of the others popping in when it's convenient.

Most of the development work right now is being done by me, echo, and bb, with most of the ideas being stuff that broadband has always wanted to do but couldn't, or balance adjustments.


What pissed most of the players off was one of two things:

All gold in the game was nuked, because after 2+ years of neglect and rampant imbalances, (such as 120k gold/hour hunting in destard, and bottle duping), the economy was completely stuffed, and the only way to fix it was to either:

A. make everything cost 100,000 gold or more, which just adds lots of needless 0s
or
B. nuke all gold and let it rebalance out to where it originally was.

Also the fact that races and classes were finally adjusted to a system close to how they were originally supposed to be, so a lot of players who's vampires suddenly got less overpowered got really pissed, and run around claiming staff don't listen to players, just because staff doesn't bend to their whims, when the other 70-90% of the players approve of the change and understand why it was needed.

LOL sorry but thats a terrible overstatement, I was making maybe 50-60k an hour (includeing selling gems) with a fully maxxed PvM poly mage.

and now that is probably decreased down to 20-35k an hour
