It's worth it... just make sure you leave the main quest to last, and explore all the other content that the game has to offer first.

Once you finish the main quest, you cannot continue the game. So do everything else beforehand :D

PS. Fallout 3 + Radeon 4870 Crossfire + 24" monitor = win.
