Now try it with a really good pvp warrior, and without summons, especially since after the crafting patch summons or shrunken bears won't be very affective unless you are GM taming. Also do poison pots work in town yet? Because that is a huge factor too.

Poison pots do work, although I don't think he used them. It was a pretty even fight for what it was. Eraser was almost dead a couple times, never did he run far away or anything but he did run around to heal.. The bear definitely helped..

Just go hunt things for hours on end.. It's Christmas in Feb. It's over soon though.

ya he beat my ass i would have had him dead but i ran out of wall pots so he ran around like a little girl and all i could do was shoot my bow wile hes fsing me and had 4 bears on me. so ya he beat me.. And i wanted a rematch but i had wall pots this time and all he did was summing deaomns on me wile i was attacking him then i crashed...

The fight wasn't setup, I just happened to stumble upon it..

Then I just posted this balance discussion named thread so I would have something interesting to read and to get dialogue going on general pvp balance..

Everyone feel free to tell us your own pvp experiences lately!


This fight did clearly show me that GM Mages aren't fizzled vs GM Archers as much as I thought they were, from what people were saying, or from my own pvm experience where my archer owns magic casters with only 55% archery...

But yeah someone should get 2 balanced & stocked chars to fight and see what happens.. Try and get video or pics too and post about it..

I have not fought eraser since the changes, but he was ok back then..not great, but not horrible. I don't think I ever fought shadow hunter, so I don't have a comparison.

If shadow was not using all the tools available to him (poison, fish, pots) then the fight was probably not fair. Eraser rarely goes into a fight unprepared. If he does its usually because he's already been killed and looted 3 times that hour.

I'd like to see this fight with both players fully stocked.

i belived if we were both fully stocked and we were outside for full loot i think it would be a good 3 min fight with me winning.

Last fight he cought me offguard will 4 grizz bears and i had no ar fish pp and wall pots so ya... Wasent rly a good fight if he can just run around spamming fs with 4 bears taking my arrows shots for him. I would be more and happy to fight him outside for loot with no deamon summens...Shall we set up a date?

My point was tho this really proves nothing, what should be happening is some of the better pvpers of each class should fight 1v1 without summons and other gimmicks when you have an even match then you have balance until then you have squat.

shadow would rape restile in seconds in a head up fight in a pyramid room. bears are cheap. no summons and he wouldnt last a minute.

Balance should be considered ONLY IN NORMAL FUNCTION.

Arguments such as 'If we were in a tiny room and couldn't run around'
or
'If summons were not allowed'
or
'If walls were not allowed'
or
'If blah blah blah, just another excuse'

...they just don't count.

The only thing that should count is this:
If you come across another player at random, is the fight even minus any special items. By this I mean shrunken bears by the dozen....well even at that...if both have the same amount of bears, fine.

When you try and figure out a balance, think only of regular game-play.

What counts is what happens in the ring. Everything else is just practice.

im with alexander..you can t say..if he didnt have his bears..well that is part of a mage to summon bears and deamons...i fought eraser in town with my warrior and won but it was because i was luck ywith my walls and walled his deamons and bears away and stayed away from them somehow..and he fizzled alot! and im not gm resist at all
