Thought this would be neat and useful:

How about when you reach a level of which let's say you can craft a new item, it will say at the bottom left in pink or something "Since you have reached the skill percentage of x.xx you can now craft x!"

Would be neat to have the player know what he is now capable of crafting.

Would save the trouble of crafting something you thought was higher, but in reality, was lower in skill.

Yup good idea i don't like having to search threw the everything to see if there is something new i can craft. Would make it alot easyer to go threw shit.

actually this was voted on in-game 3 different times while i was scripting crafting patch, and people said they preferred (12 yay to 4 nah) that items not be shown if you don't have teh skill or resources to make them.

However i will be posting a list once the rest of the crafting items go in, of all the items you can make.
I will include skill%s for most of them, and resources for most of them.
However some are gonna be left for people to discover on their own.

Sound like this will work out?

And have it tell us somewhere when ur able to make it, not just show up on the list without telling you.

Maybe on the list when a new item is available it says *NEW* in red next to the new item, and once u click it the *NEW* removes...since its not new anymore!

How about a compromise. If you are at the EXACT skill it takes to make something, it'll show up in green on the list.
So say ya get a new item at 65.2
While you're 65.2, that item will be on green on the list.

Having it tell you when ya hit a new item is a little harder due to how it's setup, but this one i could do without taking too much time to put it in. Sound like a workable idea?

Im guessing your asking Bob once again that since one is already GM in the skill they should recive a
something new only they can do? If so, dnt think it should happen.

If not, then it shouldnt be that much of a problem lol

Nah when i read the posts i got the impression that people will get to see in there crafting menu what new things they can craft when they hae the exact skill. So say to mix a -int its 99.5 you will see forgetfulness potion, but once u get 99.6 it wont show in your crafting menu untill you have the resorces to mix it.
If you are allready GM in any skill you wont see the new items in your crafting menu. Only way to find out new stuff is to try having diff resourses on you. (could be hard if u needed 100 logs and x amount of cloth etc). Or wait for someone training that skill and hopefully telling people about new items and what they take to make.
Hope i make sence :/ Im crap at trying to explain what i mean lol. Seems all logical in my head.

I think he might just do it overall. Like it will show up as a new item even without the recources. If it was
like how you mentioned aimee, then it would cause a lot of problem for alchemist and other crafters.

Good point. Might have that looked into, but I think Bob would have a way around it.

maybe instead of being that EXACT skill level it should show it for .3-.4 over that maybe in orange because whos gonna look through the menu every .1?

and I would say make it a mixture i think someone stated it before
where the common items thats been around for ever show up regardless of skill / resources, when you click these items it'll show skill needed/ resources or w.e
example- something you would train on to increase your skill, like a heater sheild or a greater healing potion, everyone knows how to make them, so having the skill requirement listed would be great
then
for the items which are rarer / bob wants people to find by them selves, only have them show up when resources and required skill are achieved by that crafter. EG. black rock sheild embossed with rubies would only show up when you have the required skill & items. OR hallucination pots, would only show up when you have the mushrooms
