Alright, i wanted to keep this under wraps until it was released but honestly, with yet another ultima franchise being released recently, i figured if i waited too long people would accuse me of copy-catting. :P

This patch has been in the works since t3a. It was put on hold due to the forced upgrade to t4a.

Epic Warfare Patch:
Guilds(or very rich individuals) will be able to raise armies, hold territory, and develop areas.
Taxes from houses will go into the regional treasury, and be used for upgrading those regions by the controlling groups.
Each unit of an army will be unique, you train them up, you get them their eqiupment, etc.

So, that's the (very) brief overview of the EW patch. Only public guilds will be able to participate, or public individuals(more on this later).

So, this is the thread for discussion and questions.
What would you like to see in this patch, or what questions will you have about it?

When a place is taken over by a guild can another guild challenge that guild for that spot? And what ups and downs for owning land?

Armies can and will be constantly fighting for control of territory, although well defended areas like towns will probably rarely fall.

In addition to getting perks such as tax breaks(possibly) for houses within the regions, it will also grant control over the politics of the land if you hold sway over a large enough area. Some even say that if a sufficiently chaotic guild could control a town they could rewrite the laws themselves.

In addition some larger guild upgrades will require resources to be gained through trade or ownership of the resource generating land.

That is some of my basic notes, but as i said earlier.

What do you WANT the benefits to be? :P
Input people, give me ideas and your thoughts.

first thing that pops in my head...if someone controls an area outside "normal" towns, and has guards for army...are those guards used to call on ppl? i would not want that...then you could never try to get into someones house.

but this is alot to think about. ill need more time for any ideas i might have.

Seems I remember something like this mentioned in the forums some time ago too.

Anyway, are the armies made up of recruited npcs, like mercenaries that need paid to remain loyal?

Are we limmited to deeded houses for the towns, or would we have the option to collect resources to build static structures?

no taxes are fixed.
Or that would get broken really fast.
And yes work still happens on it, it's just slow because its a low priority patch.

But please keep making questions/suggestions

Some sort of scaled battlefield in the master's chambers to direct the troops instead of using the traditional ways (all come, all stay etc)

Mounted units

I would really like some way of being able to take like 10-20 of these troops out into a dungeon, but you personally would get nothing from it but stronger troops, everything they killed would automatically have its loot sent to the army coffers (weps, gold, pots etc)

I dont know how it works really but i would like a recruitment barracks, the more gold/armor/weps/food you put in the more troops they pump out, say you put in 10k a week you might get 1-2, but put in 100k a week and you get like 10-15.
Although this idea really depends on if your units STAY dead when they die or can be rezzed.

I'll post more later

Will certain properties have an income of their own such as farms etc.? Reg farms maybe or just properties that generate income on their own?

i dont think you should get bonuses for being on your land...only diff would be that you may know terrain better. so +20 on tactics?
