I'm mining in cove, and whenever I try to equip my smith's hammer when I have ingots ready, it says i cannot equip it in town.. so what should I do?

I tried going to minoc but my newb ass cant find the anvil

This is one problem we have with a script they put in, You cannot equip weapons in town, and for some odd reason you can't equip any of the tools either, expect pick axes, I'd suggest trying to equip it outside then coming into cove? otherwise IDK, i guess you'd have to get your own forge/anvil.

go to the small house in the mine, at the doorstep, equip the hammer then come back. the hammer will stay equipped.

is that not basically what I said..?? HELLO?!?! CAN ANYONE HEAR ME?!?! ...

Dude, you told him to get out of cove, lol. There is a small house IN THE MINE, that has a "no guards" area EXACTLY at the doorsteps. He can then equip the smitty hammer and go to the forge without disarming it (for there are no triggers in the mine). So... erm... it's not what you said.
