 Post subject: Frost Elf Fishing
PostPosted: Mon May 23, 2005 8:20 pm
Hey everybody. I have a frost elf craftsman who is a GM smith/miner that I decided to also turn into a fisherman/cook to get stat fish for my other chars.

I've gotten 55 fishing (started at like 25), but everytime I cook fish I get no gain whatsoever. I've been dividing the fish into piles of 1 before cooking, and have cooked at least 300 with no cooking gains.

Can someone tell me if frost elf craftsmen have some sort of cap for cooking? I looked in the race skill cap guide and it says there should be no cap for fishing or cooking, and I am still gaining fishing at a steady rate. I just wanna know if I'll actually be able to cook stat fish once I can finally catch them.

and BTW - If any fishers out there want some cheap armor, I'm willing to trade GM armor of any color (up to valorite) for stat fish. I only need +str and +int

sometimes it just doesn't show you the gains, it happened to me. you get the gains, the blue writing doesn't appear though. it is temporary, i think. next time you cook keep the skills panel opened and watch cooking.

keep cooking fish steaks one by one till you reach 70 fishing. then start selling the fishsteaks (uncooked) and start cooking the small fish. that will get you gm cook gm fisherman in about the same time.

Single Fillets are so over-rated.

actually i think you gain faster cooking, fishing if your hunger level is "well fed" and not "stuffed". kinda weird.
