being afk is illegal period... if you click a macro stone once it says... somthing like afk or macro stone... some stuff like... so its illegal on both sides of the story |

I always thought the middle ground between graveyard entrance and britain town was britain territory therefore making it legal to pk there being that you can always call guards on that pathway anyway but thx for pointing that out Thass. |

I believe the "AROUND" part is referring to Cove. Britain GY is the only non-pk area in Britain, not "around" the GY. If you were killed outside of Britain GY, that's your own fault for either a) not calling g's due to being afk or b) running out of the GY and out of town when attacked, and if it was B, due to someone attacking you. You should of taken a screenshot and reported it. |

yeah so basically, echo is right and thassius is wrong technically. but he does have a good point in saying that it is lame for people to lurk around the brit gy looking to catch noobs who are training. anyone who is having problems like this around an obvious new player training ground need not worry staff, just look up some of the older players, they will be happy to squash anyone who is being cheap and dishonorable. just make sure you didnt ask for it.... |

Yeah wasn't really trying to get attention of staff... I didn't page when it happened or even bother to check my journal to see who killed me. I just figured I'd put this out there as an example or reminder. |

lol, I didnt mean to aggravate the situation. Apologies to kinetic, it was echo I was referring to - but both of them are great staff that I personally appointed as moderators, and then nominated for counselor. I have faith in their judgement in-game. Anyway, it helps to have some constructive banter with regards to the rules. We are all on the same team  First off, one of the most important parts of being a staff member is using your discretion. Personally, I would uphold the case that the 'around' part does apply to just around britain graveyard. This is to discourage pkers lurking outside of the immediate area, and thus making the new players within feel intimidated. If another staff member chooses not to take this stance, then that is their prerogative. Yes, everyone is able to use a runestone - but personally when I was training noob, I used to pop to and from that blacksmith for cheap gear replacements, particularly weapons when they became worn (before I found a GM crafter to make them for me  ). Should new players not be allowed to do this in safety?Furthermore, the rules state that there are no 'grey areas', and I personally don't feel that staff should encourage players to exploit the wording of the above rule I mentioned. I don't see why we have to try and justify pking around there - anyone remember Kaine? Finally, as far as I know being AFK in itself has never been illegal on this shard. If this was the case then the shard administrator would never have developed macro stones. This is so that we can harmlessly disconnect players who are afk for some time. However. AFK macroing is illegal, and of course if we catch someone at it then they will be punished. It is important to remember the difference - I certainly wouldn't consider every player who pops to the toilet while chatting at the bank, or goes to check on his children while hunting with friends etc (provided he isn't still fighting), to be breaking the rules. Here is the only rule pertaining to being AFK Quote: 1. No AFK macroing - Do not leave your computer for even 2 seconds with a macro running.
In short, if you want to test the wording of the rules by pking in the immediate brit graveyard area then feel free - you just better hope I'm not about  or someone pages to complain about it when there are any higher staff about (trust me, BB and CV have no patience for pking noobs in one of the rules-stated areas, and will not tolerate you trying to bend the wording).And for the record, every staff members input is valid - thus a team is born I'm locking this now because I have pointed out the relevant rules and my interpretation of them - if a player chooses to test this then they do so at their own risk. Anyone with questions can PM me. Their is no need to pk in or around the newbie hunting grounds specified in the rules, period.
