Right now there are only a small handful of active PKs...I'd say around 5. There are lots of PvPers, but most don’t PK and loot on sight without provocation.

This thread seams kind of a waste of board space for only 5 people, IMO. If you want more places to PK, my suggestion is to get out of town, go to the countless places that attract players, and kill the people there.

I would suggest hanging out at the crossroads, Covetous Level3, Hyloth, or wrong...All are high traffic areas and PK OK zones. I would suggest the PK bridge, but SOMEONE had to make Vesper a ghost town

Let the newbies have their Cove and their hunting grounds. Eventually they will need -dex and -int pots.

Yeah.. now that Vespers dead and Britain has f***** pussy ass G lines that go out to like the stables, we can't even have decent PK activity there..

f*** the noobs anyways I dont want their loot, but I say aslong as you're making "no-pk" zones, keep them only to area's acessable by 20 year olds.

Otherwise you get people like chips who's in Cove Territory most of his time..

This kind of goes back the vet rewards subject... up-and-coming PKrs get discouraged at the fact that they will never be "the man"... which I guess is the point of a career PKr. This is probably why we see less and less of them. I myself figured I couldn't keep up with the likes of <ahem> some people who put countless hours into building up their charactors... quite early in the game.

Yea omg i loved vesper bridge, when i used to get pkd there and when we used to have battles and shit cant do that anywhere in brit :(

We are talking about PKs, not PvP. True, PK is one aspect of PvP, but the driving force behind PK is more monetary then the desire to say "I beat <ahem>". Look at Restile....shitty PvPer, but legendary PKer...for good or bad.

Well, let's see, for one, whenever the topic of "vet rewards" come up, you bring me up. While it's flattering (really it is) I by no means consider myself a "vet". I have aquired quite a lot of knowledge on the shard and it's systems, and I've been here for awhile sure.

But when my oldest character (that I still have) is only 37, I hardly see myself benefitting enough from the vet rewards to make myself "the man".

If I'm "the man" I became "the man" by doing just what you said, putting countless hours into building up my characters and tactics.

And for the "quite early in the game" comment. My best guess is you meant skills were easier to gain then? or at the time of my gainings? Well you are VERY wrong, healing, for example, used to be 1000x harder to gain than it is currently.

all the skills were easier to get before...and what the guy was trying to say is that he quickly realised taht obsidian is run by the ppl that are playing 24-7. which is kinda true here, but i guess its true in any other shard too, just move obvious in obsidian. we wont ever get to the way things were back in the day, cuz the majority of ppl like easy stuff, and noone is about to play an old game 24 7. its just a pass time, of like 1-2 hours of day, and most of the time ur chillin.
so yeah obs will always have around 30-50 ppl on at most. B/c it has less than other shards around, and it makes things harder for the players. But then again its almost bug free and its unique.

Training healing must've been really frustrating if this is correct. I've spent 5-6k bandies for a 0.2% raise to my healing skills. Can it get any harder?

You are missing my points again, but you came close with this sentance. I meant yes, you have already spent tons more hours building up your char than I and many others will probably never have time for.

It didn't take long to figure out I can't compete with such. One of a few reasons I'm neutral.

None of this was meant to be an insult to anyone, complain, or anything of the sort. I'm only trying to give some reasons WHY I think some players could care less about PvP. If you'd take time to read posts and not get all defensive and EMOtional... heh-heh.

Jackal got it. Anyway, yeah I'd have to agree that making Cove territory a kill zone again really is not a good idea.

Have you ever been in Cove Zone?
There are actually I bet more of the half houses that players have in Obsidian...
Only because they can safely step into them..
Now this ruins PK and PvP.

I find this pretty funny.. you guys are basically complaining that, people who PLAY this game, are better at it than you..

I WONDER WHY?! OMGOOGLES! Ok guys, just for Wizard_of_Gore and Galahad, let's give all noobs 3 free GM skills so they don't need to "earn" their skills like us, but can still compete..

riight..
