I was going to download the beta version but it was around 2GB to download and would have taken me like 2 days to install :(

I got the beta all dled, and my account set up but when, i go try logging in it said account name has been blocked or villing is wrong or something?
did you put your credit card # in or something? because i didn't ,,,, because i have none :(

Part of UO's charm is that it is old-school.

I guess a new client is nice, but for 2007 it really looks a little poor from the screenies. If they were going to redesign the engine they could at least have invested in something scalable (so that newer hardware can really show off in terms of shaders etc). The textures also look bland and blurry, and from other screenies I've seen on the net the lighting is fairly poor too, and in some instances looks worse than the 2D version!

I personally think that there is a real gap in the market for a graphically leet but isometric RPG. Instead of all that boring 3D crap like WoW.

Ah well, I guess we'll just have to wait until Diablo 3.

remember that a lot of ppl playing uo have poor comps so its graphics shouldnt be as new as nowadays games imo

Scalable so that there is eye candy for those with beefy setups, and it can be switched off for those who don't.
