Was wondering would it be ok to make them guild forum links visible only
to members (like it was with teh Knives). Pretty pointless for others to see
it and is annoying when you have to scroll through them to teh bottom.

if i'm not mistaken, the mod for that forum can set it as "invisible to non-members" or something

I'm familiar with how to hide a forum (or not) :P

The knives forum was hidden for a reason - aka in their theme of secrecy.

However, I really like the idea of displaying the guild forums, and personally if I can see a valid application (ie a thriving guild) I will be honouring my previous statements that I will be creating more.

I personally think that, for a potential new player to log on and see a thriving guild forum section, this enhances the 'community' feel. After all, the web is full of admin-generated generic content - that is why the latest .com explosion is in user-generated content. I don't mind showing publically that Obsidian welcomes community cohesion.

The guild forum section will remain displayed as is.

PS. The 'scrolling through' is exactly the reason they are placed at the bottom.
