All I can see in this case is that something didn't install right, be it .NET FW or
Obsidian. You got obsi installer from http://downloads.dxgaming.com, right?

Things like firewalls, antivirus, online security soft and/or MS data execution
prevention shouldn't be the issue here, but turn them off just in case anyway.

Also, make sure you're installing/running on Administrator account or have full
access to system folders.

There's a working solution for 303 patch error, go read more.

The problem in this thread is patcher crashes with updated .NET FW.

That's weird... I was getting the 303 patch error at first... but then downloaded the .NET Framework 3.0 (don't ask me why... I thought it would help somehow...), and then whenever I try to patch, it kicks me out saying it encountered a problem and needs to close.

I have reinstalled the .NET Framework and Obsidian several times over (with restarts in between), and I have yet to get rid of that error message. Also... the links that regiss put up don't work on my computer for some reason... so it seems like I can't even patch my game manually (unless the files aren't being hosted anymore... that would make sense as to why I can't download them...). Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Patch link might be unavailable for couple hours rarely whenever i forget
to start up ftpd.

Another thing about .NET FW, you ppl only need the runtime environment,
not the SDK or w/e shit. And version 1.1 is enough. When re-installing it,
uninstall would most likely be appropriate at first.

I actually seem to be having the same problem also. Everytime I start up the patcher it always discloses with "Error found -- must terminate" text. I've installed different versions of .net framework, reinstalled the obsidian client, and even restarted my computer a couple of times between actions, but still to no avail.

I have windows firewall turned off. I actually tried this with my other real firewall turned off, but it still didn't work! :(

You haven't mentioned if you patched... if you have downloaded the version of the obsidian installer located in the download section of this site and keep receiving a patcher error, you must extract the files in Regiss's patch collection he has linked here into your obsidian folder in order for it to work.

I did the exact thing you told me to do and it still doesn't work. I actually removed the client, reinstalled it all over again, and then extracted the patch files directly into the folder and it still keeps giving me that error and shuts me down again. This is very frustrating :(
