I have been testing it on my pvm mage and it doesnt seem to work at all i have never parried a spell and i still get full damage after parrying a blow. I would say it doesn't work right at all. That is why i dropped it on my warrior. |

Resist gains are going at the appropriate rate when compared with data from t3a. The only difference is you won't gm resist off shit that gives you no real threat. But fight some casting monsters and you'll see gains relatively quickly. Most higher level undead, most elementals, and any demonkin are normally good training areas for resist. |

Why hasn't my character gained in two years though at all? I've been fighting a lot of elementals and still no gains, it is like he is stuck at 32.9 resist.. he won't even gain by 0.1. I only made this thread because I thought something was wrong with my character. I do know that some other people on the shard are getting resist gains; but for me though resist is not gaining. |

well i made a post in another topic under this section you can read that is kind of similar to these issues but its relevance is only about 25%. (http://www.dxgaming.com/forums/viewtopi ... 61&t=20162). now just to let you know, i have less than 50 parry and less than 50 resist and i resist spells....parry spells etc no problem. in reality parrying a blow doesnt mean it doesnt do damage....though logically hitting full shield should do very little damage if any at all. parrying spells....this is the first game ive ever heard of that (except diablo 2 where amazons could "dodge spells). im not sure if parrying spells is new, or 2 years old whatnot since i just got back from a 4-5 year break from here. but im starting to think that the parrying spells might be interfering with resistance gains IMO. a longer test not using a shield should be a priority among us to see if this is true (or among gm's since they can analyze that information a lot better than we can). this is just a logical assumption that ive made for some of our gaining issues. i think other issues come from the race/subclass part of the shard, like my issue with magery (refer to the post i made at the link above). for those of you having issues with gaining in resistance, try sparring in vesper for a little bit using spells like mana drain (not mana vampire). me and those guys were testing a little bit and found that we were getting gains from PVP. me and one of the other guys went hunting earlier and got 0 resistance gains getting blasted in destard and some other place that had reapers who spammed us. (i parried a lot of spells so once again, maybe this is why). |

If you were parrying spells you would get a message saying you parry the spell. And i never said that parrying a blow should do no damage but it damn sure isnt supposed to do full damage. And honestly i haven't resisted a spell since beta so im not sure whats going on there and yes you know if you do that too. |

well from various post I have gathered that resist won't gain from spells that don't really cause damage but ya parry sucks dick atm I parried things such as skeles but the bigger creatures it's actually usefull for give me no nulled or lesser damage, same as in PvP no parried spells or nulled damage of any sort as for resist, it might be after 50 you just don't resist shit any more or something LMAO cuz i have neither gained a damn resist or resisted anything |

ive seen messages scroll by saying "you parry the spell", "you resisted the spell". but also a lot of times dont give any message, but also do nothing to you. no sprite effects that you got hit...or noise that any effects have be used on you. |

I am only 32.9 resist as I've been saying in this thread the whole time, and that is way below 50.. it's been like that for two years and hasn't gained at all. |

you probley just dont train resist at the right places i got alot of resist gains.. Zott got some and he's in the 90's |

I always go hunting with Zott at the right places, and even with the high level stuff being cast on me I still get no gains. |

Okay so a little update, I was finally able to gain today.. I had to get another player cast some spells on me and it went up. So I know that my character isn't stuck or bugged or anything. Though still the problem remains that you don't gain in resist when you're out hunting, you could go to shrines, destard and still not gain anything at all. |

Nah, I went out to shame the other day and got a gain in resist. I was standing by blood elemental and i just let it spam me for a while, and I got one finally, and I have about 70 resist. |

It gains... It just doesnt gain fast.. And its not suppose to. Gm resist is for true players that work hard at there skills. its not given lol |
