I pk noobs. Most pks just attack anyone they see since the chances of running into someone out of town is pretty slim.

very very true; it's not like we can take the time to open up your paperdoll and analyze the situation... its hard enough already with you running

To paraphrase for all the newbs out there:

When you see a pk, don't run...Stand still and give him the time needed to open your paperdoll and talk to you to learn about your newbie status...

Of course...The pk's are gonna need some adjusting to the new way things work, so don't be mad if they accidently kill you the first few weeks...Just be proud that you're part of a beta experience to change the way pk's think...

I think this is the kind of thing which is driving new-comers away from the shard.

ur gonna get pk'ed on every shard man, thats just the way things go, try not to hunt in wrong, worst place ever, covetous is always quiet and some of the other more distant dungeons. Failing that, just hunt in the wilderness, nothing better than getting to know ur way around obsidian and making some good ????? too.

The problem at Wrong has been solved for me, but I'm thinking of other newbies to the shard. The highest peak of players I've seen so far is about 33ish. Wouldn't it be better to see more?

the peak is around 60 odd, ur just playing at the wrong times. every nooby gets pK'ed at wrong at some stage, its a learning process. Btetter they learn while they still, poof, than at soem point getting PK'ed when the over the 2 week poof period wearing their nice stuff cos they didnt think it would ever happen.

When is the peak time to play then? I'm in England, so I use GMT Meridian times. Time now is 14:50 here.

I think obs favors the pk. Why is it that alot of dungeons have anti-magic field. You can't recall if pks come all you can do is stay and fight, and most likely die. I died way way down in shame yesterday. I wish i could have had a marked rune to get back down there instead of trying to run back with no health, armor, etc, through a maze of elder gazers to try and get my shit back, which i didn't. It seems the only way to hunt is in groups here. I have no problems with pks at all, but i would like to be able to recall if i am on my own and see a pack of pks comin, but i can't. wtf is up with all the anti-magic fields, it sucks big fat load in my opinion.

I actually make specific characters for farming WRONG
:
Make a toon with a memorable name "Only-Gays-Pk" for example
make him a Vamp Warrior
Spend 2 days training him as follows:

day 1 Spend training Stealth (this can also raise dex and int to 90)

day 2 Spend training in specified weapon (normally shield and sword for me)

day 3 begin farming wrong.

* Soon as i sniff Pker i go into stealth mode, now no doubt any Pker worth his salt will locate you but it's fun to see em wasting regs.

*launch insults at them as you run into the secret deamon chamber, here u will make your short stand, but on another funny note ive seen Cronos killed in that room by the deamon sooo many times whilst i still poof.

*if u manage to get a little distance use stealth again so they have to use more regs to locate you, dont forget to laugh at them when they realise they just wasted regs (and in some cases wall-pots) just to see u poof.

this vamp warrior will be viable for 2weeks due to his "poofing" ability and by which time you will probably have raise about 300k (if u play as hardcore as me) and a hefty stash of magic weapons.
You will also have made friends with Keld who lives in WRONG and is a decent chap even though he would Pk himself if he looked into a mirror.

Then use the 300k to start a character you actually want to play
Mages are ya best bet, nothing like Pking someone who Pk'd u before and the merry cicrle goes on and on.....

the main reason for anti-magic field in dungeons is not to help the pk but to stop instant access to the best spawns:

mark the very spot the balron, dragon, deamon, drake spawns so u can easy by pass the other gumpf allowing u to effectively camp the spawn without being having to waste ur time for ages (3-4 hours for dragon respawn).
