Vet: A Person who knows the shard in and out, doesent need to be rich or godly in-game, but is respected and has knowledge about the game. |

The definition of a Vet is different for everyone...a lot of people think that a Vet is someone who knows a lot about the shard and a lot about UO in general....that makes sense, but it's not how I see a vet. For me a vet is someone how has been with the shard for a few years or more. Nothing else really qualifies as a vet in my eyes, regardless of knowledge or characters. If someone logged in for a half hour a week for the last 3 years, then I would consider that person a Vet. If someone else played nonstop for 6 months straight, then I would expect that person to know a lot about the shard (maybe even more then the 3 year guy) but he does not have the longevity to be called a vet, IMO. |

^ hes right. and all the newbs think anyone who can beat an orc are vets. its all up to your POV. Oh and theres more than 2 levels, newbs and vets just dont describe it well. |

I've been here about 8 months. I have a tower, a GM warrior, and a collossal 7k in the bank (:lol:) - but ive beaten most of the vets here at pvp, and take pride in that - and the fact that few players would like to take me 1v1 if they could help it. However, if I am beaten then it just makes me stronger, so I take it all with honour  I'm also now a staffmember...However, I dont agree with rating myself against other players here because I feel that everyone on the shard has merit - from the lowliest cove noob to Elleberation (who currently has a bank balance over 10 million, a vendor lodge/guildtown, plenty of rare stuff, fully gmed characters, and is also dead sexy  )Also, as Elleb said players like Bruiser (who is phenomenally sexy too) have achieved alot in a short timeframe. As far as I'm concerned, I agree with Keld in that 'vet' is an elitist term that is used unneccessarily here. I also know enough about the shard and the players here to answer almost all questions thrown at me...and yet I doubtless wouldn't be considered a vet - and neither would I want to be. There are people that I would consider 'vets' here, but I would never call them such because I dont think you need a label to define your status here. If you are damned sexy, like Elleb + Zur + Athena + Garr and the other 'vets' here that still play, then you don't need to be called a vet to know this  Anyways, no doubt many of you will disagree, but I hope my opinion counts for a little  An interesting point for discussion, Kilo

Kilo, im touched you said im a vet.. funny how some of the "vets" here can't man up and beat me though.. I like the way Bryan put it... I don't need a title to know i'm better than you if you'd like the proof that im better than you, i'll be outside waitin for ya  The only active players I'd consider vets.. Zur, Elleb, Garr.. Urza till he got hacked.. Tyger.. but she's a dirty hoe.. Bobo's a vet, but i can't say i see him on much.. but there's not many active people on this shard.. everyone bring a few friends it'll be like a "bring your friend to obsidian " day.. sound fun?? i'll supply some like.. fruits and stuff..

Not on much...? wtf? n00b I'm on every night until the shard crashed. I took a 3 week break in early January, but other than that I have logged in every night that I could for the last 2 years. PS Ashes is hawt >> << >> I'm comfortable with my sexuality |

duo, your like those kids that sit alone at lunch during school. you know alot about the shard and its players, but everyone thinks your a looser. hahaha jk jk. i would certainly consider you a vet, you can survive just about anything that survives at you, you have really good defensive tactics. and eternal, who are you? |

Noobs talking about vets.. haha. Vet is someone who is recognized by over half the shard. If you left the game, came back and no one knows you now, then ur a noob once again, gotta prove urself again. peace nooobatos. bobo is a noob, so is kilo. haha. Duo is a vet, everyone f****** knows he sucks.. but his a vet cuz everyone knows him. later. |

You know what Urza has my respect, Zurreese as well, Garr im totally in love with. andeven though they werent the most helpful,if you really needed somthing they Would help you out.... but elle. omfg elle. is the biggest piece of crap ive ever met in my life. i would like to join urza in ancient some day but elle does not represent anything that i do. help only those who will bring your status up, hoard money items ect ect. only let anything get auctioned to someone else if she likes the person. sht like this. fine if thats how you wanna play the game. A veteran "Vet" is a former member of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard etc) who served on active duty and was discharged under conditions, which were other than dishonorable. |
