Alone

From childhood's hour i have not been
As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd I lov'd alone.
Then - in my childhood - in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In its autumn tint of gold-
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by-
From the thunder and the storm,

Of a demon in my view

I have a book with all of Poes poems and storys in it...this is one of my favorite poems of his...it rules

yah poe is a pretty spiffy writer

his stories are a lot niftier tho, but some are pretty lenthy and hard for us ADD kids to read...

one of my favorite poems by him is "romance" i had it taped into my 10th grade agenda and i had some of it memorize cuz yeah im cool

"and so being young and dipt in folly

heres a couple ive written recently, i really enjoy poetry reading and writing it so i write a few poems every now and then

ever since the day we met
ive known within my heart
our love is something special
ive felt it from the start

each and every day since then
ive dreamed of you each night
i feel the love inside me grow
and long to hold you tight

you are my soulmate, my hero, my sweetheart
you are my every dream come true
from now until the end of time
i give my heart and sould to you

even though we are not together
i know well never part
the distance may divide us
but your always in my heart

your the thought that starts each morning
the conclusion to each day
you are in all that i do
and everything i say

the twinkle in my eye

my friend my love
my shoulder to lean on

your my silly, mature, caring, thoughtful, bright and honest girl

we must have lost our faith somewhere...
or maybe... our trust...

i still hear your precious voice...

no attention is all you give to me...

just one glimpse could brighten any day...

good friend of mine's gf died from a blood clot out of no where... so i took to the writing again...
