I have some really good advice for you. Do u know where the bridge is in vesper right above the bank? Here is what you do, Go there, and you may see some red people. Red, on obsidian, means Good...as in strawberries, and cherries. They will help you out, take you on a hunt, feed you chicken thighs. Just go there, and when you notice an "In Nox" Dont panic, "In Nox" on obsidian is the spell that gives you 100 bonus of each stat, only the reds can cast it, cuz they are so good and wholesome. Follow that and you will be right up there in the good players of obsidian. |

Quote: Some real good tips:
PhoenixHunter.. err Nightmare... you just listed how I started on this shard, except with different guild names in place and I didn't friend anyone except like.. Anadivine and Achilles aka Nemo. lol (as MoB is my guild )
Start attacking random people pissing them off Act like a badass when u have 60 str Make friends with people such as Restile, Sky, or both and have Primal as your idol Make fun of all MOB members, LOV members, and People that look like they can play Trsut me, you will start pwning in no time |

Red players are PKers(Player Killers) and are usually not the type of people you want to hang with when you start. In Nox is the first spell a PKer casts at his prey witch is poison. Once poisonned a player cannot heal untill he gets rid of the poison. My advice is to train in Cove graveyard and when you are too strong for the zombies, move to the Orc Fort situated in Cove. By the time you can't enter Cove anymore you will have learned much about the shard's PVP system and also about the people you should or should not hang with. Another tip would be to find a guild that would recruit you and make friends withing the guild. Frends who could teach you faster than just learning by yourself. Although I suggest you stay away from the bunch of backstabbers a newb killers on the shard as mentionned earlier (Sky, Restile, Shamino, Chimeria and so on...) The rest are pretty much good people. |

You're one to talk Drac, one day you wanna be staff, next day you're flaming everything that talks. (Classic drug-fiend symptoms, i.e mood swings) |

ok...for the new guy, theres plusses to both fishing and mining/smithing. fishing, you get bored quick, it takes forever, and you can't do anything good with them until you are up to 80. All you can do is sell every fish steak. But, it is almost impossible to compete with a mage without very very high strength, and buying strength fish at 10k a pop is tough to afford....thats why im makig a fisherman now. mining...very profitable and useful. Unfortunately, i say money signs in my head before skill, so i sold all my iron ore up to level 75 or so. I had hundreds of thousands three houses to keep up, but no blacksmithing skill and a bunch of useless gold, bronze, and rusty ore. So, if you train mining , you have to to blacksmithing, which both of these take forever. They are more fun then fishing, since you get different ore. And, to save a little cash, make a tinkerer and a logger to provide yourself picks/shovels/fishing rods. Shovels and picks are no different, except you dont actually hold onto the shovel. BTW, another problem with mining and smithing is armor is a bitch to sell. Fishing, you can sell STR fish all day long, IN#T fish go pretty quick, and FFF usually sell also. Advantage, fishing. Regardless, dont take shortcuts to get rich, unless thats your goal on the shard. |

Why make 2 different chars for Miner and Smith + Lumberjack and Tinker. Not everyone on the shard has 3 accouts like Ashes and brother Inc. |

Fishing you don't need to sell the damn steaks.... I sell the junk and keep the steaks for later cooking. The junk is what made me most of my money. 1k a pop for 15 minutes of fishing(two rods breaking) |
