the killer is that you need 40 mana to cast a 5 mana spell (mana drain). So if you get much below 40 you just have to stand around and meditate, which takes for-EVER. I have a strong necro, but he's really hard to use and when we go hunting, my buddies have to carry the weight.

the necro systeme is still fairly new on obsidian, so it is normal that it needs a bit of tweaking. Maybe its just loki;s char. Someone needs to take a look at it though,

Loki wasn't bugged, necro itself was bugged, anyone could attain that amount of mana. One guy was apprehended with over 20k mana when he got caught.
