My 2 cents:
Invading Iraq has done nothing but hurt the war on terror by inflaming further animosity towards the west. The war, while morally right, was poorly timed, poorly planned, and not enough effort was made to bring allies on board. My country (Canada) is firmly behind the US in the war on terror, but chose to opt out because our intelligence services told our Prime Minister that the US intel about WMD was all exagerrations, speculation, and hear-say. Not to mention the nonsense about Iraq being behind 911. And lo and behold, the US intel turned out to be false.
So if the US had wanted to invade 5 years ago or 5 years from now, great! We would have been first in line to help. doing it now has just made things worse.
BUT
Now that the US and Britain are in there, they owe it to the Iraqi people to stay the course and finish the job, whether it takes 2, 5, or 10 years.
I'm rather disappointed that Bush is now saying that we (and our European allies) have a "responsibility and obligation" to help, as if the current mess is somehow our fault

. Sorry, Dubya, but you got yourself in that situation.
