well the lag doesnt just get a little bad it gets insane like to where i cant move and it dont take long to cast enough fileds to do that escpecially if theres more than one. your just gonna die or run away. i killed one but it was alone in the maze. tried to fight one in middle and it just casted 20 fields in like a minute and i barely escaped. with adrian teleportin to punch me and headless guards . OoOo was very fun. but mabey like a delay on the fields or i dunno but using lag as a tactic is stupid cause its gonna fuk with some people more than others. mabey if they cast less but theres more of em around so you cant just run away from em and be safe? anything but the 50 fields plzzzz.

i dont have a preference for the list.. im sure the rite ones will get picked first or any order is fine with me but when you Do Wrong... And the Witches.. plz leave their loot alone and dont mess with the loot tables... they drop 1-4 eyes i think soemthing like that its random seems fair... ne ways.. when u do loot tables on gazers and the new thing.. i would suggest also doing elder gazer

Eyes of Newt
Witch - 1-4 eyes
Gazer - 1-4 eyes
Elder Gazer - 8 eyes
Beholder - 12 eyes

that looks like a good table to me im sure it wont be used tho.. im only baseing this on the fact that i thought the intial drop on witches were fine.. and figured since its not broke dont fix it so if u have tuffer monsters now to drop em.. only reasonable thing to do would be to place more on em..

oh yea.. and the scripting needs to be worked out on the beholders.. they cast way to many walls.. fire, poison, paralyze..ect.. anyhow.. it is well known that most of these are bad news.. lag city.. i seen 6 fire walls from one beholder when fighting one... plus the poison and paralyze ones it was doing.. and i was so lagged out i could barely move about... id umm just take those out or limit them in casting...

yeah gm scribes have been known to make runebooks havent they?

anyways vic dont nerf the beholders it needs to be hard plus i dont lag too much there its not as bad as theyre saying imo its a cool feature since it makes it scary. if you nerf the beholders it will be far too easy keep it tough so pple cant solo and make millions. i went with one person and it wasnt that bad to clear everything you have to have teamwork. so i dont think it needs nerfed at all. doesnt make sense to make a place with decent loot a low risk area. perfect job imo vic. thx. looking forward to playing all your new spots i love you all laters!

just because you dont lag too much drizzt doesnt mean other people dont. thats the point. i need to have a p4 3.2 Ghz to play now?

I dont have that kind of set-up...I only have a 2200 and I don't lag at all....but then again....I have a 5Meg connection that's not being used for jack except Obsidian at the moment......

i tested further and decided that its even easier than i thought.

didnt notice lag being factor at all, some of the stuff hits quite hard though thats a good thing cant have stuff just given to you after all need to earn it. walls are definately needed to keep everyone on their toes. otherwise this place will be too easy. i tested this for hours its a nice challenge for a change i really enjoyed it thx again vic.

and i only have an old p4 1.6A and 1.5mb dsl. runs fine for me. *shrugs*

Thanks adam this is what I was looking for. I will not tweak with witches or any of the NPC loot. NPC loot has been and will continue to be good and doesn't need tweaking or at least doesn't need tweaking at this time.

Drizzt is right here sorry Drac but I would like to see more new features and harder monsters in the future so that You will need to bring a team of hunters to hunt. That's what Obsidian needs certain dungeons should be so hard that atleast 4 -5 hunting party is necessary to complete. It's always fun to go HUNTING. Adam's loot idea seems perfect to me.

Hedge maze sounds real cool, but it sounds like I'll probably too weak to face such a challenge alone. Another "group of bad dudes take over a town" quest-type thing like when the elves were burning down Britain would be also cool for new Buccaneers Den scheme.

i actually did some more testing on it and yea i think its ok how they work with walls and all its just the fire ones are well known for lag thats all im saying.. think if u have lets say a few groups of ppl going threw tha maze at the same time in different spots on different beholders... and each beholder is tossin out all the firewalls.. it cant be too lag free in that area at a time like that.. but just me on one beholder which i managed to solo went well considering it didn't cast reactive.. it was hard tho :) which is good.. although i did lag on the walls thats cool tho.. how they do the walls i like on the other hand it does look scary.. i have seen tho that something the elders and the beholders do causes them to fight each other quite frequent.. just thought id mention that.. one thing i must say about elders and beholders both that i have found a problem which is problem not neceserly for htem but for any monster with extremely high magery.. anywhere more than what a player can have im guessing cause the reactive on those guys is insane at times.. really hard to penetrate and get threw.. but... with a power ba.. i can take em down with reactive ok its just a long process cause only about half of what dont miss does dmg then by time i hit again its already back up to where it was...

I think all the work on these guys are perfect i like the setup of the place and everythign... i htink once reactive is worked on or removed whatever the plans for it are.. that it will be 100%

I dont think it should be a solo type thing for the place so i like the tuffness i just tend to try to solo all the time ;) hehe

glad u liked the loot table on eyes

When I originally suggested adding beholders back in the day when Jorus asked for monster suggestions (months ago), I envisaged them having a rapid spell casting ablility (due to the multiple eyes) but suggested this to be in terms of attacking spells.

I dunno if you disagree, but handliing multiple fields without lag seems to be a limitation of UO and therefore causes problems.

I'd rather see multiple attack spells being cast, particularly lightning, energy bolt and flamestrike, as well as stat drain spells etc combined with a large pool of mana.

In AD&D, beholder eyes can also stone people etc, so perhaps paralysis would be a good spell to add to the arsenal?

I dunno, I just think that direct attack spells and handicapping spells would be more fun and potentially more engaging than spamming fields.

Great work tho once again CV :) I look forward to surveying all the new additions in depth when I can get time to get on...

nope man the walls are perfect. it forces mages and warriors to team up together.

there are so many elder gazers now that would have been enough eyes for the whole shard.
