Ok here's the deal, we need to spend a lot of time advertising Obs. Think of ways you can advertise and do it. Advertising right now is more important than anything any player or staff can do for obs right now. We need to get the player count up and THEN we can start doing awesome events and the more players = bigger community which means everyone wins. Post ideas here on the boards andshare them with other players. Whatever you do, please don't do anything other sites frown upon, aka if they say don't advertise other shards on SHARD XYZ forums, don't do it. We don't want Obs to have a bad reputation for spamming or BAD advertising. I've sent this message to all players and staff on my messenger list. Please pass on the message. Maybe tell your friends about it even if they don't play an MMORPG, who knows maybe they'll check us out. You'll never know if you don't pass the word. Thanks and good luck.

Oh and friggin vote people. And if our voting links are broken let us know so we can update them.

On http://www.xtremetop100.com/ultima-online, the link doesnt work when ya click it (the link to obsidian, its gets a 404)

when u original had the patcher automaticaly vote and launch obsidian we got high up in the voting boards, until someone said we should have the choice to vote or not...... and so u removed it.


anyhow im kinda lazy, so if there were 2 bars on the patcher, keep the original "check for patches and launch obsidian" and the other bar saying "vote and launch obsidian", myself and im sure most people would click the vote and launch bar.

not exactly brainstorming or anything, just a thought.

we all have found out how the other ppl stay at the top of these boards

ok, ideas. maybe put the link in your other forums signature (not forums of other shards, just regular ones). tell all your friends about the game. make topics about obsi in gaming boards - not advertising topics - topics that discuss about uo in generally and obsidian in particulary - that will make people curious. i'll be back when i have more.

two bars on the patcher sounds great.

LOts of ppl have their own personal sites. Just plop a link to obs in wherever possible as long as it isnt breaking rules.
Or run stark bollock naked through your local high street with Obsidian shard painted across your arse cheeks, Obviously the more chunkier players would give us better coverage due to the wider canvas.

sup i play a lot of blizzard entertainment games.
To advertise there its who can spam more than everyone else.
If i was to load 120 bots all on uswest battle.net i could recruit for obsidian in 120 diff channels.
i could set the bots idle for every 5 minutes say (Check my prof link ya wont be dissapointed. I will not lie this is another game i would appreciate it if you gave it a try).

We also do not promote the use of spammage to increase our player base.
