Post subject:  Concidered "Cove Territory"

It's kinda use your brain time kids. I've been told there is a sign outside cove saying no PKing in ALL of cove territoy. I guess I should change the sign to "nearby cove territory" I dunno. The intent is to give newbies a PK free area outside cove to kill ANIMALS, tame animals, have some housing, and chop trees. The intent is NOT for them to be able to go as far as covetous which is over half way to vesper at that point and not be PK'ed. So to clarify just outside, inside, and the mountain passes between levels of Covetous are NOT protected areas. I mean jez Covetous is a giant dungeon. Want me to throw some giants outside to beat your brains in? They'll do it faster than the PK's. *boulder goes flying by newbie's head*

Thats all well and good to players that know the game Vic but for a new player its a bit vague. Signs like the pk bridge would be cool for noobs I know it's a lot of signs but hey we wana keep players not scare them away after 2 weeks and some lame pkers will take advantage of the boundry. Just a thought make lvl 1 covetous pk free and cove terittory unless its mapped out so thers no come backs when new players page all day long.

How much of the game needs to be PK free??

As a noobie - I think there's more than enough room to play in - there's the graveyard, the orc-fort and now lvl one of Deceit (or is it Despise.. whatever) - in fact, we can't even be looted in those places!!!

Half of the thrill of the game is the nervousness that an approaching player brings - I've been playing for 3 weeks now, and have only been PK'ed once - and that was by a blue player! So now I get that extra nervousness when a player turns up in my vicinity - especially when in a Dungeon!

Leave Covetous - it's too hard for basic noobs - I used to go before it became giantland - but now I head off elsewhere!

If you have the town of Cove/ Orc Fort/ Graveyard/ Lvl 1 Deceit/ plus say the area south of the graveyard, then I would think that's PLENTY of room to mine/ chop/ adventure/ tame whatever!!

Honestly, I never actually thought I was safe outside of the city of Cove - and the first time I went to Covetous, I CERTAINLY thought I would get PK'ed - if anyone expects that to be safe, then they are asking a bit much I would think!!!

Ok I see what your saying oldman but you've played the game before I'm Talking real new players never played a game like this before, thers a big wide world out there for a pker, let the new players get used to the game let them try diff skills for a while all I was saying that there has to be a clear boundry where u can pk and where u cant simple as.

Ok - I agree that there should be a clear boundary!

But I don't think it should be 'all of cove territory' - and I was suggesting that, as a noob, I never expected it to be all of cove territory! To be honest, I thought it was just the graveyard...

But - I do think that would be unfair on the tamers etc - so why not put a few signs at about the same latitude as the graveyard, so that there is room for tamers and woodchoppers to run around outside, but not excessive room! [in fact that might even be too big]

Last thing I'd want to see is too big a PK free zone! Especially with the numbers of players that we currently have playing - when there's only 35-40 people on, then there's always going to be some quiet, secluded spots that people can find to hunt/ tame/ chop wood/ mine whatever!!

Like you say - it is a bit vague - I honestly only ever thought it was the graveyard that was safe!

Rare are the pkers who prey on noobs.

This is what I like to work off, maybe a GM could place markers like there used to be along the coast area when there was a race there ages ago, just to mark out the end of the non pk zone.

The last time I caught Tammie online, my wife and I ran into her right outside of the Cove gate. Tammie poly'd into a Daemon and we had a blast beating each other up. Some new dude came running up talking junk, and she slayed the poofer 4 or 5 times lol. So no more of that activity if this new boundry is put up I guess... oh well, there's plenty more land to do that sort of thing at.
