Does anyone know where to find a good, free encoder. One to convert to DVD. I went thru tons and i keep getting these free trial ones that only convert like 5% of the file.

Tmpg enc is the best one. But you are going to have to do something about the registration...
It doesn't require registration for VCD encodes though.

i use "mainconcept mpeg encoder" to make avi dvd ready then i stick it in Tmpgenc dvd author to produce the final dvd
Bruhaha , dvd shrink is not for authoring its just for shrinking already made dvd's or for removing encrytpion so you can copy a copy righted dvd

Yeah and I was just referring to the tmpenc encoder, not the DVD author. I haven't seen that website in a year or so and it used to be you just downloaded the encoder.

DVD Santa is what I use as well. It can sometimes take a while, but it's easy, and it does the job.

Yeah that works too. Nero is what I use for VCDz. It will make cool menus for it and everything.... just don't bother with Nero's built-in encoder. It sucks.

Do a search for Divx2DVD
It's a commercial app, but they released a freeware version around 0.5.0 that runs great.
