Yeah, it uses 2006, and no you shouldn't have to open any others, and honestly, you shouldn't even have to open that one. I run through a router and I've never had to touch my ports to play here.

Ok, thanks for answer, and sorry for the wrong place to post in.

I got another question only, is there any way i can decrease lag in-game?

Ive noticed the tiles u move by get loaded just outside the screen while moving, and sometimes i see some black tiles and the games stands still until that black tile gets a texture.
Is it possible to change in any config file for loading map tiles in a bigger "radius" outside game-screen?

*hope this isnt a dumb question* ? :?

As far as I'm aware, you cannot change the radius in which your UO will load the tiles. On the other hand, there are a few things you can do to reduce the lag of your Obsidian.

1) hit ctrl+alt+delete and close out the 2nd Obsidian program you see, it should be using 0 CPU.

2) hit ctrl+alt+delete and close out "transserv" aswell, go into your harddrive, locate your Obsidian folder (default will be labeled "games") and delete the folder named "trans server"

3) Make sure you aren't running alot of other programs, things such as winamp, alot of messengers, can cause lag to the game.

If those things STILL don't help you out, go into IRC and talk to the guys there!

You may also want to try to change the size of your window in game under options and see if it helps. For it to take affect you need to close Obsidian and start a new obsidian.exe Defragmenting your computer may also help your computer run smoother.

buy some memory and a better video card. you can get 512 pc3200 for like 40 bucks on newegg for some good memory. and a fx5200 is only like 50 bucks now. which would run this game fine. memory is the most cost effective performance upgrade u can do to your computer especially if you have under 512mb.

I reaaaally don't think a PC upgrade would be needed for Ultima. I'm using 512 MB RAM and integrated graphics and it runs absolutely fine. I know of at least one other player who is using much lower specs and it runs fine for them.

why u assume i got a crappy computer, its not the newest but i got 512mb DDR memory, Radeon 9700 Graphic-card, xp2000+ processor... that should do for obsidian right?

as back-up i got my laptop. xp2800cpu, radeon9800, 512DDR2

i think its cos of my connection i got problem, i got like 4mbits or something, but still it lags and crash constantly.

i think its rly boring i got this problem, cos Obsidian is rly fun!

I've played over a UO server in the Netherlands... and still recieved about 90-100 ping. That same person who ran that server also played here a while with no lag problems. Also, Oigen is in Romania and I have noticed him complaining of bad slow-downs...

Drac spouts a load of crap at times, well most of the time, ok all the time. It's prolly just your game play window size just re-start obs after u change the size.
