Post subject:  New Warrior *Poll*
Alright, ive been waiting for Races to come back to start up a new Char.
not sure what yet, Swords or Mace.

But seeing that races wont be back for awhile im asking if i should make a humain warrior.

My question is will he be as good as a Vamp PVM wise?

Dolek is human only cuz it was like my second char ever and i didnt know about the skill caps. But PVM wise he's pretty good. He's not too bad at PvP either except the fact that with that extra skill i could use poison pots. But if you make a human warrior you are better off to make a tank mage.

Bah, im already making a mage, short of regs though, thats why i was in need of a Warrior. So all around its a negatif to make a Humain?

If you make 1 now you might be in the same boat as me. Taking the time to gm 5 skills almost 6 now but wishing you would have made a vamp. So I would say to wait.

yeah thats what i was thinking, it would be alright now, but then when or if vamps come back, like you said ill be in the same boat as you.


I know BB is fed up with people telling him that Races should come back and what not, but i would like to ask a question, BB or any other GM maybe could answer this for me.

Around when will they be back, just a small guess if you guys could for all of us that are waiting on it.

Thanks alot if you guys can give a small hint.

You can still have a very good human warrior. Just have to train him the way you want.
What I'm aiming for is gm swords,tactics,resist,poison,archery,healing with 60 anatomy.
You set up the stats to your own playing style and you would have a very good warrior but without parry and those extra vampire abilities you'd not be as good as a vampire. I still have my first char and he's a human warrior but he's jealous because he can not stomach blood when vampires love it.

your best bet i believe would be to make a merchant char, probably a fisherman, and raise some money, that way, you can give your warrior the stat fish you fish up, or sell them to make some money and afford those regs. Thats what i would do if i were in your position.

i dont do to bad and i got parry tactics macefightin archery 60 anat. agic resist, but i am alwas changin my skills to compensate for the shitty skill cap i would wait my warrior is 32 obs years old and i have never liked him

You can make a warrior that is good in either PvP or PvM at the moment.

It basically comes down to Parry or Poisoning

Your template (for PvP)

GM Heal
GM Resist
GM Archery
GM Swords
GM Tactics
GM Poisoning
60 Anatomy

For PvM
GM Heal
GM Resist
GM Archery
GM weaponskill
GM Parry
GM Tactics
60 Anatomy (although, if you are making a warrior SOLELY for PvM, then there's no real danger of having a higher anatomy - hits harder and heals better)

That's just my opinion - you'd have to pick Swords for a PvP'er simply because you'd need a 2-handed weapon, and the Battle Axe is the best - if going PvM, then there'd be nothing wrong with fencing (get your hands on a GM made kryss!)

Having said all that, there are certainly advantages to having poisoning on a PvM build anyway (especially when fighting spell casting/ more powerful monsters)

My recommendation is to make a tank - human warriors aren't worth it :( (just start with 50 resist and either 50 magery or healing, and train combat skills in Cove g'yard to get cash and bandies and buy regs - collect skele bones, those will make you some serious profits!)

pvp stands for player versus player. this is the style of fighting you would use against another player
pvm stands for player versus monster. which is the style fighting you would use against a monster

back a few months, obsidian had races, among these was a vampire, which could be a warrior. most people preferred his because a vampire had 100 more skill points than humans as well as some racial abilities, such as drinking blood, going bezerk, etc.

a tank mage is somewhat half mage and half warrior, which is one of the most common fighters for a human


and dont worry about ignorance, youre new, no one can blame you. :)

Parry or poisoning????? Wouldn't you get completelty owned by mages if you didnt have gm parry? I mean poisoning and resist only go so far no?
