It's very anoying to see those stupid spam bots,and alot of work for the mod's to always delete them. Isn't there a way to stop them, maybe make the account register for forums abit harder. I don't know, I'm sure Thassius as the admin knows all the options that can be done. Might want to conisder it,because lately it seems that those bots are spamming our forums abit to much.

It's not hard work for a moderator to click "delete" on a post.
We were just lacking active moderators and I believe Thassius is dealing with that right now.
I think there erm, image verification you can turn on for registering, then just disallow guests talking in all forums except offtopic or help - incase someone needs it.

Maybe BB can add the box with the letters in it that you have to type to get an account.

lol, I think BB (or someone else) enabled Image Verification for the creation of new forum accounts
However, after a couple of complaints, I tested it and 10 times it failed to accept the characters that I saw in the image - thus, it is pretty much broken - for that reason I disabled it.
Personally, I thought that letting a few spam bots through was a lesser evil than preventing many noobs creating forum accounts.
When I can get hold of BB, I'll ask him if it is possible to update the image verification system with one that is less 'fussy'. It makes it damn hard to create a new forum account!
As Emo said, in the next few days I will have fully appointed approximately 10 new moderators - which will make a big difference in improving the boards all round!

10 new mods? thats well decent, i was expecting like um.. 2 or 3  That should clean the boards up alot

Seeing as image verification doesnt work.

I know how to get rid of them, its a tweak to the PHPBB script that makes you check a "Are you human" box off to register, its stupid, but pre-programmed bots that users download wont be able to have their bot registerd."
Bots are already smart enough to check off the accept agreement, so your prolly thinking this wont work, but the thing is, its cause their programmed to accept the agreement, and not another random box, and only the programmer of the thing would know how to fix that, not all the people who download the bots.

Oh, then fix the image verification... Im not sure what version this PHPBB is, but it should be 2.0.21 or higher if I can even remember what mine was... XD...
