I'd like to make a clarification here. It's illegal to trap animals, spawns, etc in your house. While it may be perfectly legal to gate someone's horse out of town it's NOT legal to trap that in your house. So feel free to gate horses out of town to the middle of nowhere but don't expect to be able to "Steal" horses by trapping them in your houses and later re-taming them. Gating a horse out of town to the middle of no where is evil and wicked but no different than right then and there killing the poor beast. It's just a new level of nastiness.
Some players weren't sure about the rules concerning mount traping, so I just reposted this so everyone knows why I have been enforcing this.

So if you have a private island it's legal to trap it there? Or it's just like having a house?

If you have to wonder if something is illegal, it probably is. I do not know this for certain, but I would believe it to be illegal considering the area is not accessible to everyone and there is no where for the animal to roam.

As far as I know,you shouldn't move the NPC from it's original place. If you can't tame it,and can't get a friend to do so...just kill it :twisted:

And what about horses and stangs that you own. That counts as an animal right. I mean staff constantly says nowadays that you can have all the animals you want in your house as long as its been tamed already, or even if its not still tamed as long as its renamed. This is wrong then eh..? wierd how the rules change everytime we get new staff. [not really, they just dont even read/know the rules themselves...]

This is good to know since, as i just stated in my thread in bugs and suggestion, ive had this done to me for at least 20 times the last month. Rmx being one of the most to do it afaik, 2 times i can think of right now he did it 1 hour ago last time to me. Ill just get a screenshot of this next time so they f****** idiots stop doing it.

Just killing you and gating your ride is perfectly legal... they just can't "entrap" it in a house or whatever. Now if you are <ahem> gated into a mountain unable to move even 1 tile by someone heh-heh, yeah... take a screenshot and report it.
