Post subject:  Problems getting started.

Hi, i downloaded your client today and im running into some trouble. I downloaded and installed the program without any problem but when i try to start the client nothing happens. I see the program in my running processes and it seems to steal all my cpu resources but nothing ever happens.

I've looked through the forums and found nothing so im posting my own thread.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

you could try checking that you have the microsoft .net framework installed --> you SHOULD have it.

If not, try automatic updates on Windows - that should fix it.

Another problem may be a firewall blocking the program - make sure you have set obsidian to 'allowed'

if you've checked those things with no luck, then I suggest uninstalling, rebooting your computer, and reinstalling.

Let us know how that works out for you!

I've seen that happen to myself the odd time after a bad crash - but since you haven't been ingame yet, I'm not sure what caused yours.

Regardless, in your task manager, change it up to "high priorty" just until it loads, then drop it back down to normal, it'll speed it up and might *just* get you on.

Do try what Rocket suggested first though, mines a back-up.

Carling, there may well be a setting in your virus scanning program that allows it to recognise Obsidian as a 'safe' program?

I can play Obs while it's running, it just takes 10-15 minutes for obs to load up if my virus scanner is on.

If you use Trend Micro or AVG it is the same. It's not that it won't accept it as safe. They just lag the hell out of your PC.
