Hi everyone. I´ve played and quit, played and quit UO loads of times, though i keep wanting to play this game once again! It´s such a great game, the concept is awesome but unfortunately this game cant match other great mmo´s due to it´s graphics. It confuses me alot why can´t EA just make a game with wow-like grafics, and the concept of UO. I mean UO is the only mmo i know that you can have houses, that has so much variety.

Well, just wanna say that im new to this shard but still remember some of the game lol. I might bring some friends with me, i talked to them so much about the game they will try it out too.
Hmm well some people still play UO so im asking if this shard is hanging on ok, a good player base, how many players usually everyday etc.

i dont wanna fill in to much info on server right now cos i dont rly know whats going on right now.. ill leave it to other to say, but if you ask me if its worth staying here id say yea. :) its a even tho small but good server and nice ppl around. :) oh and good rules for chars, with caps and that..

Welcome Dani!

This is a fairly customised server! So it's not exactly like original UO!

The basic concept is the same, but a number of things are pretty different!

Might I suggest you read the 'shard manual' while waiting for the game to download?

Some key things to note:
SkillCap is about 680 and increases 10 points for every 6 months played
Stat Cap is 290 --> you can gain stats to 100 and then you need to eat 'stat fish' which can be fished by a fisherman with 90+ skill.
Skills won't decay - you'll need to eat a forgetfulfish - fishers with 80+skill can get them - and also skills can't be locked - so you'll need to figure out how to 'manage them' (it's not as hard as it sounds!)

Skill gain is slow, so chose your starting skills carefully!

Your best bet for a starting char is probably a tank-mage:
Start with 50 resist and 50 magery, and as much strength as possible! Do the whole 'noobie tutorial even though it gets boring (it gets you extra cash and stats) - and use swords as your weapon of choice! (Don't use other weapon types at all!)
Buy training in healing from the healers as soon as possible and stock up on bandages (this skill works instantly and then there is a delay to 're-heal')
Buy the spells 'reactive armour and protection' asap! And cast them on yourself before you fight!

Train in the Cove graveyard - accessed through portals in Cove - kill the skeles and zombies and carve their corpses to gain bandages and skeleton bones (skele bones you can sometimes sell to other players at Britain bank for around 10gp per bone!)
