Post subject:  Anyone with new computer and is having problems with Vista
Ok guys here it is... i been dealign wtih two new computers that have vista and its flaming security and problems when running obsidian. FIRST OFF DONT INSTALL OBSIDIAN DONT TOUCH IT .... till you Disable microsoft firewall, Go to windows defender open up tools click options scroll down to turn off windows defender. Go to user accounts and go to user account control Uncheck the mark for using user control. Next go to search . Look for ms config.... Click the start tab... and uncheck anything with systamic<<<nortorn> games> obsidian. Files will show and a file called uo.cfg will show delete that file. Next in that same window go to obsidian exe and obsidian patch exe. DO THIS FOR BOTH... right click on both of them and place compatability for whichever you used before hand. Most likely win xp service pack 2 works for most i would recommend that. Go to the security tab and click edit. Click the allow button to allow administrator etc to use this program and open it with no problems. now HERE IS THE BIG THING. before you open or touch obsidian.Update your windows to its full capacity cuz windows has a .net folder that must be updated to windows vista system. The .net will be 3.0 which is more advanced then the 1.1 off obsidian page. Go to regis Patch page on forums REGIS IF YOU CAN SEND ME THE PATCH FILES FOR THIS MESSAGE PLEASE DO SO WITH THE UPDATED VERSION OF PATCH 305 ALONG WITH ALL PATCHES TY :) or guys look on this forum section for patch and for 305 patch regis updated. ... Click on them links and save em. Extract them folders into your obsidian folder. For you noobs thats the C: > games> obsidian<<<<<<<<< Now extract it in that area and open the obsidian folder... YOu will see the 305 patch <<, damn thing says 305 if you dont knw yoru dumb. Delete the 305 patch<<<its>>> go to the updated 305 patch regis has set up ... and dl it and put it in obsidian folder.... Now go to obsidian folder and open up obsidian.exe and presto all this shit and you will definatly run obsidian. If not yoru a noob and you messed up so die . Had to post this cuz its a pain and spent a day trying and finally got it.

P.S REGIS if you can post here for the patches and new 305 for these guys it would be helpful :)

Hey regis i just wanted tihs problem to stop cuz its horrible and frustrating. I know you didnt create it bro... i just wanted you help in it for them patches cuz your the one that directed me about em... as for the rest of the stuff... its what worked for me and i have the patch 303 problem everyone gets or the patch 305. So either way people need this or they cant play . Whne it comes to this stuff man you know what your doing. Cant blame me for tryig to get some help out of ya

You knwo its funny you say that regis cuz the reason i did step by step was cuz i use to teach my marines everything and ya we had some dumb guys sometiems... what better way to learn to fix a problem by doing it barney style <<< dumb people way. Sometimes ya knwo people jsut dont know that much but if youexplain it barney style... they will grasp it :) ROFL :)

This work for people with windows xp? aswell as vista?

i dont have vista , i have xp and its completely dif set up, its been 1 week since i came on and ive started playing cossacks online and im slowly starting to get addicted to it. I aint gonna let my account decay like last time lol.

Somone help :cry:

i dunno what it was before but as of this post i got no probs running it on my vista64 or xpx86 machine so u should be fine. and btw how the hell r ya. :P
