Hey could someone help me out? Lately Obsi has been crashing on me constantly, it started only when I use the RC stone or recalling (which isnt fun when Im doing reg runs in Wind lol) but now it crashes every 30 seconds even when all Im doing is walking. It crashed a few nights ago and then I couldnt get back ingame and had to reinstall obsi, it worked perfectly for a day or so and now its doing the same thing again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it does seem to crash a lot when recalling on reg runs. I found regis's advice in the skill guide worked quite well. Don't drag on vendors to find out their name, just click on them once or use the journal. Another thing to try is using .resend or .resync before u recall as well.

not my area, but when you uninstall obsi do you make sure the whole obsidian folder is removed. some "corrupt file" may still be left when you install it again?? just a wild guess of scenario

I used the add/remove program thing in the control panel.... its really hard to tell whats left of obsidian after I removed it because I have files from other shards on my pc as well :?

Obsidian installs into a different directory to other shards anyway. So that shouldn't be a problem (unless you told them to install into the same directory?)

To fix crashing:
Go to you obsidian folder; delete the 'desktop' folder. Log in. Should be no more crashing.

The problem is that you have now lost all your macros - but you can always save them out of the 'desktop' folder first and then put them back in the appropriate place later.

I already deleted my desktop folder and it seems to be fine, Im not having the skill problem like you described. I just dont know where to put the macro files now that the folder is gone lawl, but it doesnt matter I can set them up again no problem

youll delete all characters custom settings if deleting desktop folder too.

true Ambient- but those don't take terribly long to reinstate... and most likely they were something to do with the crashing in the first place (ie, directory is confused as to where to look - crash!)

Raine: once you log back into the game on each character, the 'desktop' folder will re-create itself and you'll be able to simply put the 'macro.txt' files back into the same named folders they came out of.

When you're doing a reg run, don't drag their health bar for their names. If you drag the health bar and recall, you will crash. Just use Allnames, or a macro like "Alchemist buy, mage buy " etc...
