It didn't properly dump it's cache on the last patch, and the uniqueness of one of the bug fixes caused a race condition.

layman's terms: It didn't forget the buggy code completely like it should have(1 in a million chance), so it ended up trying to run both new and old code at the same time.

Please tell me there will be no roll back.

Where is broadband? Why isn't he here doing shit? If he's so f****** busy why doesn't he give you some more f****** access to the server so you don't have to bother him in his "busy life".

It will only go back to the most recent worldsave. IIrc there was one around 10-20 minutes beforehand, but i might be wrong.
And shooter, the change went in yesterday. The race condition didn't get triggered till today. I just have my computer setup to notify me(and my phone) when the server borks(if it can tell) so i can try to do something about it and get to listen to less bitching about downtime.

And apoc. Bite me. The server actually eating itself is pretty damn rare. In fact we've had 3 instances of it being the server software itself, rather than a hardware/isp issue. And speaking of that isp issue, i put in some fixes so that it'll auto-correct it's location every worldsave, so if it ever happens again and i'm not around it'll fix itself in an hour and a half anyway.

I do what i can, so lay off. And broadband has a job. believe it or not. He'll probably reboot it when he gets off and gets home. It's a matter of it's something you need physical access to the server to do with how it's setup currently. If we had a different server setup and it was running a different way, i could do a remote reboot, but that isn't possible right now. And yes i've talked iwth him about it, but the server is setup the way ti is for a reason, and given how rare a reboot is required, it's not that big a deal.

Yeah the game has had some issues, oh well. When all is said and done, it's something broadband does on his spare time with his spare cash. And it's something i put in my own time for free to ensure it gets bugfree, balanced, and gets new stuff for everyone to enjoy. Sheesh. Maybe i should just put up a "paypal bounty" button in my profile, and if ya want shit fixed immediately you put in $5 and the name of what ya want done and it'd go into tomorrows patch.

And yeah, watch the language, yet again. I'm trying to keep you unbanned, but if ya keep mouthing off like that i'm not gonna be able to keep convincing them not to reban you immediately

i didnt mean yby the race just before you resync the server oor do anything else to the shard so that people can go to town thats akll i meant cuz i was in a dung when you resynced just doing that and im pleased

necromancy never took reags. It's why it costs so much mana.

Necromancy would probably be more than a $5 job though, given as only 6 players have necromancers and it's a whole system that honestly needs to get cleaned up and rewritten to conform better with the new systems in the server. just rewritten, not redesigned.

Anyway the paypal thing was a joke anyway, i'm not so bad off that i need to start extorting money from people so shit gets fixed. Plus then people would feel required to do so or think things would never happen.

Yea i know it never took regs lol thats why i said make it so it doesnt take regs cause ever since we changed the obsidian it started to take regs and alot of mana instead of just mana.
