Why does it say that action was to easy when you fail on making something hard. Its kinda stupid cause you should be learning from your mistakes. Is there any way that can be changed. I under stand it was placed there to remove a bug but can you fix the accual bug instead of causing it to not be able to gain skill half the time my stuff is fails. Specialy now since you got to make hard stuff to gain.

I second that motion.

Consider blacksmithing as an example. Gains come painfully now slow to begin with. But under the current system I could make a million daggers with no gain, and fail as many times attempting to make chests with the same result - no gain.

At least I can sell the daggers...

actually it's not in there to stop a bug.

The way it works is you gain so much knowledge from making an item correctly.
When you make it incorrectly, it's actually counted as making an item of a lower difficulty level. (don't ask me how much, i don't know off the top of my head).
And when youf ail to make it right, you don't learn as much. Sure you learn from your mistake, but you can learn more from making one right than you can messing up. becuase you mess up and that ruins it, preventing you from doing the rest of the steps neccessary to make the item. You could mess up on the first two cuts. :)

The old system worked this way, just silently. You had a LOT less of a chance to gain off a fail than a success.
Once everything's how it should be, you'll gain MORE Off successes than the old system, since it will require more resources, and plus no gains off fail.

So it will be balanced to compensate, just hold on.

I'm sorry that i lost around 80% of my "Free" hours in the month of febuary due to real life going WOOHOOO!!!!!!
So the entire schedule got thrown off. Minute i'm finally done w/ crafting patch i'll post a revised schedule. But believe me, whenever i have 2+ hours spare, i work on the stupid patch. IT takes around an hour of setup work just to be able to get back to where i can continue working on it, so it's really slow going.

The problem I see with this is atleast 3 times the amount of resources required to train a skill.

i agree with boogie man, now u need more resource then before to get gains.

more resource because or u need to make more items to have the gain or because u need to make hard items who need more resource to try to get gains, and until now is still hard to get gains in most of the skills, hope this issues get fixed with the crafting patch

There's a fine line between being able to feel proud of mastering a skill and getting discouraged because there's no progress. Everyones patience level is different, and Bobs is astronomical......He might have made the gain system with his own level of tenacity as the benchmark.......

or it's been said gains will take approx the same amount of resources, with some adjustment for time transfer, just a lot less crafting of stupid items.

I.e. same playing time to master (resources/etc), less clicky clicky to make to master.

Sorry, but this is the 200th (i've counted) post that bitches about the same issue that i already said was getting fixed.

I wouldn't be so perterbed if people noticed when i say "i know of problem xxx, it's getting fixed". because repeating that 200,000 times is annoying as well. :P

Again, sorry the patch is taking so long, it's a bigass patch because i gotta do all the balance checks for all teh crafting skills, which takes a TON of my time in testing and tweaking.

actually when crafting patch goes in i'm going to try a few things that should not be the cause of lag, but might be in some weird way. So if lag goes away after crafting patch, we'll know why.
