Can we tweak the kill system a bit. I think that only the person that gets the final blow should get the kill for pvp. When we all went to hyloth and cleared 1 and 2, most of us came out red cuz you would accedentally attack someone ..tab out, then they would die later and everyone that attacked them so far would get a kill. Also when your in town and playing around fighting a buddy, you get low on health, some other mage can walk up, fs you and the person you were fighting with will get a kill also. I am tired of getting kills ALL the time...and then your not alllowed to be afk (without macroing) at all cause its considered gaining a benefit, by eating up a huge timer you get per kills. Thoughts?

I say its to much to change the killing system to the last person who hit BUT
I would like to see the timer shortened ALOT, because its a horribly long timer

another idea would be to add a choice after you die...would you like to report chips for a murder? that way if your screwing around or in town some ppl will not report the kill. makes sense anyway since - if a murder happens in the wilderness and noone (alive) is there to hsee it , did it happen?

hmmm...after thinking about this it might help. i mean sometimes we joke
around at vesper and one happens to die (no bandies, or simply is lazy to fight).
allowing the person to chose to report the kill or not is an idea to use. it then
allows the fight to be for fun without the other person having to deal with a
kill.

so i think this might work. let the person die chose whether to report the kill
or not. instead of an accidental kill be placed on a fun match.

thats just might thought on Falin's idea =]

I think that would be a good idea. This way only true PKs would be red, and folks who like to PvP can still be in town without guards being called. BUT...if the system was like this, I'd like to see the penalties for being red a bit more severe..perhaps 1 point stat loss (to a random stat) if found by the town guards.

hahaha that would make so many ppl angry, but that sounds like an excellent idea =]
that should make pking a lot more interesting and make reds a lot more causious
of where they step =]

what would justify a stat lose? *A mid night arrow gets stuck in your leg inhibiting your movement* - 1 dex :/

and that is waaay to unforgiving,
I would say it would be fair for red to DIE in town. or have a 50% chance of death due to the justice bows magic or some stupid shit like that,
but this would be a problem near town borders, blues would have a unfair advantage in pvp, specially the ones that use Bows and magery.EG. they sit in town and fire upon the reds out of town, meaning they have no chance of being struck *specially if the red is a warrior*and if the warrior does go into town, it's instant death.
+ guards fire outside the town limits, so that REALLY wouldnt be cool for reds anyway
better then the -stats tho :)

they are caught in town...the rest of the reds can walk freely lol

ok, maybe stat loss was a bit too harsh...but your analogy of mages and wariors fighting in town....Chips, have you been to the PK bridge? What you described is similar to what happens there all the time.

If this system goes in it's going to be harder to go red, and only the people who REALLY deserve to have the title "murderer" will get it. If you honestly deserve a murderer title, then you honestly deserve to be punished for your crimes. I've played on shards that gave 10% stat loss to murderers who got cought. There was still a lot of reds, they just never came in town. 1 random stat point is hardly a punishment. Warriors loose more str and dex then that when they overcap on int, and most of them have no problem maintaining their stats. The stat loss punishment is mostly symbolic, but it will keep reds from abusing town fighting.


Anyway, this is just theoretical and will, most likely, never be seen on obsidian.

or how bout we also fix the range of how far warriors and mages spells
can actually reach. cuz ive seen this problem frequently. most of the time
i see mages and warriors that do not need to be at the bridge, hiding behind
guards, and killing reds (sometimes, usually rarely) because they range them
and the reds cant get to close or bam, their jailed =[

maybe we can tweak the range on mages and warriors?

some shards have a sort of "prison" system for pks like if u get so many kills u can either buy your way out or serve time on a "pk island" where reds live and carry on hunting and crafting and if they choose to do so pvping each other, seperated from everyone else till their kills decay or they decide to pay their way out.

the island has everything you need on it but of course no guarded areas and you cant leave till u pay or serve time.

Bring back bounties for red chars. Not only would that be a drawback of being red but it would get more pvp happening again. You could have an NPC just for selling heads. That would be awesome.
