it's normal gaining healing much more faster than resisting...resisting should be a hell of a skill, eventho the "higher skill attempt" like crafting ones is a bit lame as a concept for resisting, since u can't really find some monsters that spam fses or other really high type of magic on you.

Btw for a better resist and even INT ( hehe) gains I suggest you to go train at hythlot or at shrines..there u will gain like hell!

Greetings. My resisting spells seems to be stuck or something. I have no idea what the problem is but there seems to be something wrong with resisting spells on my character Damien. This character is 4 years old, and for the time I've played on it in the last 2 years I don't believe I've gained at all; not even by 0.1%. Bob gave me an increase by 0.1% the other day to see if that would unstick me, but that has not helped at all. I've been hunting a lot lately and have not had any gains on it when I should get at least get one or two gains. Resisting spells is a difficult skill to gm, but I am not even getting a 0.1% increase which is kinda retarded. I realize resisting spells is hard, but shouldn't be that hard not even getting a gain in a year or two. Just wondering what the problem could be? Any thoughts?

This is just a shot in the dark, but other skills require a successful use in order to gain. To gain blacksmith, you need to smith harder and harder items, and be successful at it, or you will not gain. If resist is similar, then you need to have high level spells cast on you, and you must successfully resist them. I'm not sure if this is how resist works now, but it would help to explain why gains are so darn slow. I have 80 something resist, and I can't honestly remember the last time I got a resist gain. I know it was long before the big upgrade.

It is possible that is how it works, but before the updates and even now after the updates there are no gains for me. Also now thinking about it I don't think I've seen any messages come up that I've resisted spells at all. The thing is though I'm only at 32.9 resisting spells ( Was 32.8 but Bob gave me a .1) and have been that for couple years which is odd, because considering it's low you'd think it would be easier to gain in than the 80 you have for your resist spells.

Well, Since this whole new beta I have yet to resist/parry a spell nor get a gain from the two...I have high resist and parry so it should block them but it does not, so I'm thinking it's currently not working right now. But if it is it needs looking at.

I do care on my warrior. I remember when have gm parry and gm resist kicked ass, now it doesn't do any good, people are dropping parry cuz it just adds a huge delay to there healing and resist doesn't even work correctly, + the gains are hard to get.

oh damn! i dont think i gained since the new patch either (with spell resist) but ya, when you do parry something ( i dont parry spells any more) i still take on damage,, its weird,, it says i parry yet i see the same affect as no sheild maybe when u parry now it just dumbs down the hit instead of actually just knocking the strike completly
