Try reinstalling your video drivers.

Which anti-virus software, if any are you using? There was a weird widespread issue with the AVG 9.0 update that would cause programs to kick out to a minimized scree. While not exactly like your problem, it sounds kind of similar.

the 9.0 update for AVG sucked dick, i uninstalled it even because of that
,,, that was just offtopic, i have nothing else i can think of to help ur case...
you said ur display drivers are all up to date?
try installing 2-3 drivers back.. to see if its maybe the newer drivers not being compatible with obsi

OK, then it must be one of 2 things:
1. Your monitor is giving out.
2. Your video card is giving out.
I'd say first to trouble-shoot that you need to try hooking up the computer to a different monitor... your wife's, a co-workers, Svideo to a TV.. whatever.

Most likely its his monitor. If the game is running okay it has to be the monitor. Same problem happened
to me in May I believe with my computer.
However it depends. Belg how long have you had your computer in general?

A few questions......
Do you run the game in full screen mode, or windowed mode?
What graphics card do you have?
Is your monitor a CRT or a Flat panel?
Do you play other games that are graphics intensive?
What OS are you running?
Before this happened the first time do you know if you updated your drivers, or if windows did an update?
It almost sounds like your running in full screen mode at a refresh rate or resolution that the game does not like, so it changes on you. I'd check in your video card settings and make sure that if you have a setting for "application controlled" for either your refresh rate or your resolution, that it's turned off...
I wouldn't look at faulty hardware just yet. In my experience, when monitors go bad they flicker all the time, not just when one certain program is loaded. When video cards go bad, they typically don't work at all, or you'll start getting odd fuzzy rainbow colored lines.
That being said, bad hardware cant be ruled out, but there is some software out there designed to test for bad hardware...it's been a while since I've looked into it, but one good one was called Sandra. If you do come to the determination that your problem is hardware related, have your power supply tested first....expecially if you have a newer video card that requires an external power connection.

Actually it seems to only do it in full screen mode.
Nvidia Geforce 9500 GS is the card i am running.
flat panel
haven't really tried any other games recently
vista
it seems to have been acting up since i downloaded a different kind of flash player if that means anything.

and um
if its only in full screen try a different full screen app.

but u coulda told us it only happens in full screen mode, that woulda helped!

Wow...I didn't think anyone ever played this game in full screen mode.
It's safe to rule out hardware as your problem. Try a few other full screen applications and see if happens with them. I'm not familiar with your video cards specifics, but I'm sure Nvidia gave you the option to tweak your refresh rate.
What was the name of the flash player you downloaded? That shouldn't really make a difference, but if it's a no-name 3rd party player that some guy made in his basement, then it might change your graphics settings without your knowledge.
It goes without saying to run a halfway decent antivirus program just to be safe, but if you don't have one Avira AntiVir is a good free one.
If all else fails, do what most of us do, and play in windowed mode.
