Im jsut curious but when i poly into an ogre I only get a boost of 69 str.. and i lose 3 dex, but when i poly into a giant snake i get 90 str and 12 dex... is it normal that the giant snake is better then the ogre.

I believe this was discussed in a previous thread or mentioned.

The idea was that it would limit everyone only hunting as daemons. One day daemons would have the most strength and dex boost and another day a gargoyle would be stronger. I honestly believe this was brought up in another thread by belg (I just am too lazy to search for it).

From the looks of it, it seems to be that this idea has been implemented. It would be better if GM mages would enlighten us if daemon poly still gives the same str and dex bonuses as it did in t3a.

If I find the link where this was discussed then I will post it later. Cheers!

As far as I'm concerned, it would be entirely logical that polymorph forms become more powerful the more magery is required, as this reflects a higher level of magic.

If this is not the case, then it's something Bob will need to fix. People have always hunted as daemons for example because they are the strongest monster and the highest magery required. That isn't a bug or a balance problem, it's a game mechanic.

Perhaps this is something that Bob needs to look at? It would be silly to have a 60 magery poly form that is more powerful than an 80 one. Visually diversifying poly mages hunting in PvE is not justification for breaking magery skill progression or indeed relative NPC strengths; so I'm pretty certain this would not have been done intentionally just to make people look different when hunting.

Damage is not purely based on strength as far as I'm aware? After all different NPCs use different weapons which have different damage numbers. It is entirely possible the ogre still hits alot harder than the snake and is thus a more 'powerful' form, even though it doesnt actualy give as much STR... althought that does seem odd. Have you playtested it?

nosympathy is right, it wsa mentioned before by bob himself, so he is aware of this

each time the server restarts, demon and gargoyal change a bit of str.. so hunting deamons always have something sort of kinda new to experiment with lol

The thing is that, ogre can wear shields and weapons which I Can understand why they are a tad weaker, but anything until ogre basically is beat by the giant snake who has 199 str when starting with 100.
