I was wandering the wild and killed a Arboreal Mongbat in Brit, I got the sound of a drop but didnt get a bag. Got 29 gold lol.

Some things are so weak they won't drop usually things, even if they have the chance to. I say usually because it is technically possible for even a rabbit to drop a magic item, just very unlikely.
