I'll re-explain the choices so far(if you have a third suggest it):
1. A toggle, you can turn it on or off
If you die while it's ON, whoever killed you gets the kill
If you die while it's OFF, you don't give kills when killed
2. A forgive command
If used within 2 minutes of your death, if you gave a kill to someone, you can choose to remove that kill.

I think a pop up screen would be good, like the one u get when u die askin if u wanna -1 etc. could get another after asking if you want to report the kill (give the player a kill) or forgive them (dont give a kill).
If this cant be done i think option 2 what bob said aslong as you can type the command when dead.

Or, set it on a timer and only give a kill to someone who has done damage within the last 2 minutes...
The way it is, players are getting kills they shouldn't. If that doesn't change you have no way of knowing who will get the kill or be forgiven.

Is there no room for a combination of the two? (I've no idea of the work involved...)
I like both ideas. If you have kills turned on, there still may be an occasion when you might want to forgive someone

Ah cool.
I'm just thinking I would have kill assigning 'on' - mostly, but there may be occasions when having someone gain a kill is unnecessary.

I wouldn't like the toggle switch....
I like the idea of forgiveness, but I would like the opposite of forgiveness a little more. upon death, rather then asking if you want to forgive the person who killed you, you are asked if you would like to assign a kill to someone.......maybe have a gump with the names of people who inflected damage on you in the last few minutes.....you have one kill to assign, and you can fraction it out to the people on the gump any way you wish.....we can take this a step further and use a slider bar for the percentage of a kill you want to assign someone.....
programming might be a pain in the ass...but bob would be able to do it.
