i was thinking that it would be cool if there was a way to log out faster outside of guarded area..
indeed it has to be made so it prevent ppl from escaping pkers..

so i was thinking maybe make a function with the same requirement as a runestone chamber crystal:
be 100% health,activate it,log out, in 1 min you are disconnected

maybe that would help to prevent massive logging out in from of the bank that seem to be an issue
as well as helping ppl who like to log off in their house to switch character

i dont know exactly how long the log out outside of town timer is right now but it is pretty long ( and this is normal so u cant be gm logger as ppl do in town ( you even see ppl logging out to dodge a spell and log right back in)

but yeah a way to log out quick from a miner in a mining house wouldn't hurt anything and make the whole thing easier to swap char

just an idea tho..

it wouldn't be bad if logging off in your house was the same as in town, but not anywhere on the map tho.

nah ..becuase if someone broke into your house and was trying to kill you , you shouldnt be able to log.

This will not change, because otherwise you could evade any PVP situation instantly just by logging off or closing the client... rendering PvP kinda useless.

There is no specific rule against pking someone in their house if the door is open... unless of course you are exploiting AoE spells to PK someone inside their house which we do not allow.

Therefore we wouldn't make it instalog in houses, either.

The only potential compromise I can think of would be if it was possible to make it that you instalog if you are in your house and the door is locked. Not sure if it's possible to code something that specific, though.

like i say instant loging out isnt an option for obvious reason..

what i say is to have a way to make it faster.. like 1 minute.. instead of the actual 3-4 mins

if u can go to RC in 1 min it wouldnt give any advantage to log out in the same time..

It is possible, with my nooby scripting abilites I would try to set a tag on the player that locks the door and if he logs off inside then it checks for the tag and it logs him off.

Since bob is the best scripter I know, I'm positive it's possible. But there are bigger problems, we've been in beta for how long? Let's not give him any new ideas to run to.

i say leave it alone. its almost the same as instalog...you can set a macro or lock a dor quite fast, ifsomeone comes to pk you...lock the dorr and log.

towns will be the only insta-log area.
IF i changed anything about the system, i would change it so you only get instant log after being in a guarded area for 5-10 seconds, to prevent the run to guard line and log some people do.
but that's not really a high priority right now
