Question - If I resist a spell, does this mean the spell is completely negated?
Answer - No. The Resisting Spells skill only lessens the effect of spells, it does not completely "absorb" spell damage. For stat decreasing spells this means you lose less stat points when hit, and for duration spells this means the duration of the spell is shortened. The exception to this rule is the poison spell, which *can* be fully resisted.

Resisting Spells has changed various times in Ultima Online's existence. In fact, in Age of Shadows it does not affect damaging spells at all, only stat drains, poison etc. I like the way it works on Obsidian just fine.

lmfao!
That is one of the lamest things I have ever heard. Reactive armor stops much of a warrior's attack. A warrior missing once or twice in a row means the mage can be fully healed and on the attack again.

Also, this is at least the second time you quoted 'facts' that belong on other shards than this. Might wanna do some actual research before posting anymore 'facts'.

but you have to realize that this is NOT the real uo or we would all play there. this is unique shard, things are different here and VERY few of us what them changed to what all the others are doing.

The REAL UO, (IMO) was back before Richard sold out Origin to EA....After EA got their hands on it, the game went to shit.

What Obsidian is now is closer to what Richard wanted UO to be then the official shards are.

Ummm, My warrior "Sinner" has been stuck at 50.0 forever... Idk if i started him at 50.0 and it's never moved or if I trained to ther but it's f****** 50. Now, he is bugged, that's all there is to it. Sinner was my first character on this shard and you would think he would be above 50 3-4 years later?

And if your gonna say maybe you haven't hunted with him, I have.

Yeah calm down lol. Research the shard on which you play....not another irrelevant place. It is like me saying all houses have siding cus the one down the street has siding...even though I know mine is brick.
But yeah, anyways, this shard is unlike most others, so it is hard to find facts outside of what we are told by the changelog and staff or learn for ourselves through game play.

I thought that too with Dolek because he hasn't gained even .1 since the switch to T4a. But then when i heard other people talking about not gaining i thought maybe thats the way resist was now. I have gotten people to cast on me and hunted nothing but spell casting montsers for months and nothing. And that isnt an exageration it really hasnt gained at all.

My Player gained Resistance but his magic resistance was at 0.
So I think it is possible to gain but just very slow
