It is not a bug. Your own fire wall does no damage to you, but someone else's does. This is to prevent training resist easily I think.

nope, it doesnt do any dmgs at all, but we were trying it in town .

Aleksander already mentioned the reason. Spells that you create by yourself deal no damage. Bob implemented this awhile back in order for people to actually go train their Resist manually, rather than just sitting at bank spamming bandies and fireball.
