Turned red and killed every animal in my yard.

Why did it turn red?

Why did it attack other animals loyal to me?

Why did it turn red?

What animal? When did it turn read? What were you killing with it beforehand?

Odds are it went red because you were killing high karma things
Red things kill other pets

Tamed it, bound it, summoned it to my yard.

Been there for a week, with me feeding it regularly. I had fed it earlier that morning.

Killed nothing with it.

My pet protected ride was killed and sent back to my yard.

Went to get it, and all of my animals were dead in my yard, including the one i went back to get and my bound animal was red.

It started grey. If you need any other info, lemme know. And if i missed anything i'll edit.

It was a grizzly bear. I unbound it and killed it when i saw it was red.
Still don't know why it went red, as i never killed anything with it.

I did summon it to a couple of different places, but always gave it the 'all stay command'

i never killed anything, or even fought anything with this bound animal.

I know red things kill other pets, but if it was sitting still in my yard, why did it turn red. My char hasnt gotten any negative karma. It didnt fight anything until my protected animal poofed to my yard. And when i went to get it, 4 different rides were dead including the one that poofed, which is the only animal in my yard that hadnt been givin the 'all stay' command.

For some reason my bound animal decides not to stay, turns red, and kills everything in the yard. Or maybe it turned red and then decided not to stay, but wait, other red animals that i have told to stay have, so whats the deal with this one. Not to mention i've posted about my bound animal just vanishing for no reason, thinking that a gm may have removed it due to something he/she didnt approve of. I was told that that didnt happen, so there is an obvious bug with the bound animals.

Sorry about bein such douche about this, and complaining over and over. I do appreciate all the hard work you've done over the past 12+ months, and i really like the way the shard is running. Its just that this is the third bound animal ive had go haywire. The other 2 just disappeared, which i would have preferred for this one to, instead of killing my stang, but hey, thats why i post about it, and you give me a smart ass answer that i prolly killed something with it. WELL I DIDNT!!! so figure that one out. ffs

I'm going to keep posting about this, as i see wood-elfs as a very viable pvp option, IF the raceskills work and the bound animals dont go crazy.

Here's a new one. My bound animal is loyal to another one of my chars and doesnt listen to the char its bound to. The other char is a woodelf.

Another bound animal is now loyal to yet another one of my chars, and this one is human.

The only correlation i can give you is i was training my anatomy on the bears that became loyal to another char. I was training anatomy on the char it became loyal to. Don't know if that's the connection, but that's what i got.

most of that has to do with the changes in animals the forced t4a upgrade brought.
they can be controlled by any account.

Although i have a decent idea for them, gonna put some changes in today to see if that helps things.

Update: Found what's been destroying bound animals, or at least one of the things. lemme see what i can do about it.
Update2: Pretty much nothing, is gonna have to wait till i have more time to f*** with it. The server is eating the pets half the time on garbage collection, which is one of those poorly documented things that will take me awhile to reverse engineer.

Thank you for looking into this issue, and taking some of your time to do it, i appreciate it as i suspect the rest of the player base does as well. I'll be testing things out the next few days and will post here on what i find.

Thank you again for your attention to this matter, i know i can be a dick about things, so i appreciate you putting up with that too.

its fine, i've known wood elves have been eating pets/weird pet behavior since shortly after they were put in, just i knew it wasn't something i could do in 5 minutes, since the whole thing with bound pets is an ugly mess(due to how the shard handles "offline" animals and such) and was a pain to code to begin with, when i thought i had everything working.

Plus there are relatively few wood elves, so it's been on the back burner(plus grouped with other pet issues) since only their pet is fubar and thier other abilities work, and that pets balance in pvp has been not positive.
