logged in and my str was down one. nothing else, just str, and funny thing, my stats at that time came to 289.

Same haooened to me. Str dropped by 1 but my cap was only at 266.

If your str is above 176/178 - whichever is the cap and you use a -stat spell to get your stats higher that is a bug. We never intended to allow it through but it was never high on the list to fix.
