A resend works on the character but I have not found a way to replicate the bug. If anyone is able to replicate it, please let me know.

It happens to me all the time. The way i fix it is by getting off and on a horse, or by opening a corpse. If you dont have any of that stuff near you... good luck!

yes blocked a direction that you cant walk
to go that direction you have to log in log out or get out of the ride and get on


very bugged when you get killed in lvl 3-4 by shadow monster and that you couldnt move the direction you wanted to go

If this Displacement Bug isn't diagnosed and fixed you will never have a good shard.

I do not know what triggers the displacement but it kills me at least once a day. Once you are displaced, you can maybe move in 2 directions but are often stuck in place until you double click an object and select a target/object outside of your inventory. This makes PVM very frustrating.

It is clear that Obsidian has been made into a PVM focused shard, however, if we ever rebuild the PVP this shard was once known for, PVP will still be unplayable due to this bug.

Does this only happen when actively in combat, or just moving around near enemies?

What are you usually doing when it happens?

I haven't been able to pinpoint it. Someone mentioned it may be caused when a lot of things happen at once and it could be that simple.

Happens when I'm running around casting spells. I believe it can even be caused by using bandage self macro and open door macro quickly.

It happens so randomly that its hard to diagnose exactly. I know when I'm using my open door macro too fast while i'm running, it'll trigger it. Its almost like the shard can't keep up with certain things and glitches you.

Yep that's the one. Its not that your frozen though, more like you can't run in one direction be it north east south or west and that's at random.

Honestly, there's a coin-toss odds whether this is a client issue, or a server scripts issue.
It's a desync, due to how the client<->server communicate about movement either one of them could be the culprit.

Re: scripts, it just boils down to slowly going through and eliminating them one by one, which has been done slowly as scripts get phased out/upgraded to the most current version.


If someone can get a replicatable test case in here, it will at least help to narrow it down, although my bet is there are multiple causes (probably related to some of the old methods of making things "work" in 51a and earlier that some of our scripts have).
I will say there are at least 4 instances I know of that are purely client side, and can only be fixed with a client patch. Three have been there since i started, more or less, and one was introduced around midway through the "First" patcher cycle.
